People shouldnt forget the oppression their grandparents suffered, but they also shouldnt judge the people of today by the color of their skin or their creed, or justify any kind of wrong doing against them...just because they're white for example.

I don't know if this has already been pointed out or not, but......

Sun Records stole royalties from nearly every original black rock and blues musician, absolutely brutal contracts that just paid them like day laborers. Led Zeppelin stole entire songs, just changing the lyrics. To be fair they did that to white artists too, but it doesn't make it right.

It's kind of odd to me to think that any one race could claim that they invented rhythm etc. Music is found everywhere, african music is generally better percussively, but india, europe and the rest of asia should be included in the forming of the relatively simple rhythms of music today. That blues, and rock primarily came from african americans re-interpreting african rhythms and vocal style is a given, but it would be odd to think that it was a vacuum, that folk and gospel music from europe had no influence.

Rap was definitely primarily black, but the three piece house band at Sugar Hill records was composed of a black guitar player and bassist with a white guy on drums. I'm sure he was mainly influenced by black artists, but he was also partially responsible for creating the stripped down drum sound in rap/hip hop.
Besides James Brown and Parliament, the other major influence that you can definitely hear in rap and hip hop is Kraftwerk. The staccato, simple, and sparse style is more Kraftwerk than either Brown or Parliment, but in todays world it's heresy to mention this. Kraftwerk took James Brown beats and minimalised them, and black artists took them back. None of this is stealing IMO, it's appreciation. When hip hop started they all mentioned this kind of thing, but I think the predominance of gang culture, and things like Vanilla Ice made it seem uncool to notice that the guy playing beats on almost all the early rap recording was white, or that the founding rappers liked, and borrowed technique from goofy german techno electronic music founders.
All this said, I still get uncomfortable hearing Eminem 'singing' Lose Yourself, thinking about how Wu Tang Clan or Ice Cube should have been just as huge, but it's hard to say it's pure racism, people gravitate towards artists, especially vocalists, who share their history, and there's simply more trailer parks in america than ghettos.

It obviously has to do with all the shit they had to go through in the past centuries, but come on, times have changed.

I was going to ignore you but you are a fucking idiot. How is it that I am racist please explain. Where did I make comments degrading white people. I stated how I felt about certain issues and now I am a racist. READ everything I posted and please point out where I was racist.
