CBently... which is your favorite outboard preamp that you own?
Someday I want to buy a dual channel super fancy preamp. I've considered the Summit 200 which I see you have. Which one do you get the most use out of?

The Chandler Limited TG2 gets the most use around here since it works so well on a variety or sources but the Summit has mor of a 3d sound to it... if that makes much sense. You can also get some nice distortion if you overdrive the inputs but it's a tad darker than everything else I have. When I was tracking other bands I got into the Seventh Circle preamp kits and they sound really great for the money. Now that I'm just back to doing synth stuff and overdubs it's a bit of a waste to have all these but I can't seem to let anything go.
I'm also partial to the Great River 2NV even though I don't own one(used several times with great results).

You can hear my stuff via my Myspace page at
www.myspace.com/cbentleymusic but most of the stuff currently posted doesn't utilize the full setup since I just finished redoing my room last Spring/Summer and put it all together again in the Fall(the desk was custom built by me and the patchbays took a bit of time to wire up). 2 or 3 remixes that are up utilize the 8816/STC-8/Hammer EQ/KSP-8 but most of the other stuff is a few years old in which case I only had a few select pieces plus all of my synths. Most of the analog outboard gear seems to lend itself better to real instruments rather that synthetic from my experience. I'd happily post some of the work I just mixed(rock/pop) but I don't have right to the songs and right now the project seems to be stagnant. Also I'll mention that it doesn't matter what kind/how much equipment you have or use because I caranked out an absolutely HORRIBLE sounding remix for someone a few weeks back that sounded like it was recorded through 2 cans and a piece of string. It was embarrassing to say the least so I deleted the whole thing, apologized, and crawled back under my rock to contemplate the meaning of life myself. Anyway... long story short... I'm hoping to get back on track with some original electronic stuff as time permits as it looks like I have no mixing projects lined up this year.

Hey pamplemousse_mk2,
It's a Wurlitzer 206a electric piano, a goofy old Wurlitzer Music Learning Module keyboard (which sounds great with some redux and saturator), and the ubiquitous Microkorg.

Thx for sharing! Indeed some beautyful synth sounds! Had to laugh at the statement of one of your myspace-friends, "Why cant I be you". Especially liked "Tell me again", "Heaven" and "Contact", which I think is my favorite. If I may add a little criticism: Often when there was coming up a change in the music I thought it would have been nice to let the first motiv die away one more bar, to take away the energy and then come back (not in Contact or in Heaven though, those evolve very nice and slow). Thx again for sharing!
