^ 3 here... more if you count Soundforge and some of the freebies that come with controllers.

still, i might be using BitWig... BUT i PROMISE it will not be in the first 90 days after release... oh no... that will be nom nom nom popcorn time... i'll give Live 9 a month of the same... if the reviews are thumbs up, cool... otherwise... at least 90 days too. still, i can see Live 9 in my future... magic 8 ball says "undecided" when it comes to WigBit.

Sure. And even if I buy BitWig, it will take me years to leave Live because of all the projects im knee deep in. Above all, my ever growing library of custom racks is an importent and huge part of my workflow. Oh, and there does not seem to be racks in BitWig 1 or even 2.

Ill buy it just for fun! (no need for drama here)

Just saw that Bitwig team posted on Facebook that they're having trouble testing VST plugins at the moment... they're asking people to tell which Os they use and top 5 Vst's...

So i suppose we won't see anything stable from Bitwig before several months...

ORLY

I love the way the Internet interprets things.
Here's the message from BitWig's Facebook. See for yourself if they "posted that they are having trouble"

Actually, there are: check out their main page list of features and see "Device Nesting."

But I hear you, the thought of losing years worth of self-made Instrument and FX racks.. not to mention the zillions of clips.... not a pleasant thought.

Slightly unrelated - where do you save your instrument and drum racks?

Accept the default using the floppy button or save into your own folder?

Reason I ask is because I started saving my racks into my own folder but when I hit the floppy icon it saves a copy into the library racks folder.

What I want it to do of course is update the one I just dragged into my custom racks folder.

Cheers

It's extremely seldom I've had a need so far to make my own racks in Ableton. Won't miss that at all if Bitwig does not have this feature in 1.0.

With macros?? I need those. I rack everything and use a macro layout that mirrors all through the racks. Tightly intergrated with the controllers and the workflow.

check the PDC thread. ze2be's techniques get him a sound he likes but with all those racks there's no way the current version of Live can render them out without a lot of time on workarounds. effects in racks in racks with effects the FX chains sound quite long and get loads of varied delays due to the automation timing not being compensated for.

nice sig, good to see it back. ;)
