This thing looks like what Ableton 9 should be - "Multiple audio events per clip" "Hybrid tracks" etc. This is some advanced stuff for a new player.
I guess in the world of DAW making and coding, the developers that actually know how build these things are rare breeds -- in short, it's all about the developers.

That's probably why Studio One is soo freaking sweet eventhough it's only been around for a short time. You know why? The developer was the guy behind Steinberg's Nuendo 8O

That's probably why it rocks so much :D
You are absolutely right. That's what happened with Pro Tools, it came out and revolutionized the industry, the original minds behind it left and now the changes have been so slow it's painful. Ableton seems to be headed in the same direction which isn't necessarily bad since the program is mind blowing as it is but a lot of obvious no brainer stuff will be missing for years, not unlike pro tools.

That's really interesting.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's thinks this then. 8)

I agree, the name is God Awful -- alot folks think so too -- the name also adds to the belief that it's all "vaporware" and will never be released or taken seriously. Only time will tell I guess.

Maybe they'll change it once they get near a proper release date, or not, who knows.

In anychase, there's already a bunch of stupid/odd/off-putting DAW names out there already.

Reaper and Fruity Loops come to mind :D

Edit: I forgot, Reaper is made by Cockos, oh dear

good one mate!

i'm just a home studio recording angel myself, but man.. all this wacky 'grass has got to be greener' baloney. really?? 'better' features... how about making 'better' frikken music with the unbelievably complex apps you already have... and better music can be done on a cassette recorder as it is.

everybody thinks the guy next door's got it all.. 'cept it turns out he beats the wife and is a serial killer :P
