Your dig does nothing to change the fact that Live is/was touted as better than the competition in terms of ease of use, yet simple things can be goofy.
Try spending less than 10 seconds switching the metronome to having no emphasis, and a different sound? It's not happening, plus if you're not a programmer or someone who wants to get into what to most people feels like modifying Live, then it's not what I would call comfortable. Not everyone is a geek.
Live has become in many ways as complex to navigate as Logic, and that's silly IMO.

dunno if it's a dig, I'm genuinely flabbergasted that changing those files is considered difficult. another angle would be to ask you for examples of how that's done easily with other DAWs. I don't bother with other DAWs, I prefer to learn one well than learn lots of them halfway. it's a lot cheaper too!!

or just load up an Impulse preset and make a metronome track, that's more of a workaround, I'd consider changing files to be tuning the software. the drawback is that when you upgrade your software the changed files don't migrate.

you're confusing nerds with geeks. you are a geek, a Live geek, you're not a nerd. geeks are enthusiasts, nerds are smart. it would be possible to be a nerd geek.

sounds like a simple feature request to put into Live, a box in the preferences to point to your metronome sounds and sliders to control their volumes.

I just gotta say this ...

When I compose a track I hit a brickwall of problems about 75% along the way. These problems consist of multiple tracks having weird untraceable latency shifts and there is no way to cure them (seriously, I've written detailed threads about it but can't be bothered anymore ...). At some point of the work I just switch to Nuendo and enjoy the best possible mixing environment but I have to say that I'd rather finish the track in Live if it would be possible. But currently it is not... for me anyway.

I can't believe it has only been mentioned once in 13 pages; Multi pane support, or some way of breaking up the display into parts to move around. Put the session view mixer along side (or on a different monitor) the arrange view pane. Dual monitor support would be a limited version of this.

 what's the matter, mommy not giving up the teet tonight?

MW doesn't need the likes of you stepping up for him. MW will and can rip me a new asshole as he sees fit.

I don't think that changing the metronome is geekshit, I did capitulate that he has a point and asked for his enlightenment of other DAWs.

what do you have to offer on the topic? drop the bad vibes.

1. sucking mommys teet is something us men stop doing at the age of one... try looking into that one.
2. im not sticking up for mw .. im out to rip you a new asshole on my own because i see fit.
3. i dont think a normal human would see his post of changing the metronome as "geek shit " it was a complaint. he was saying it is a pain in the ass, not that it was beyond him to do it.. come on now..
4. this thread was clearly made for people to vent about what they feel is lacking in the new version of live...
do i have anything to offer?... no i didn't until i seen you coming in here fucking it up and stirring up random bullshit the likes of howard stern. like you always do.

you are a dick... and a troll ..the end.

- "Set root-note from pitch-detection" in sampler

- Parameter recall. (The latest release of gleetchlab has done this pretty good)

- More versatile alp. packing. (I'd like an easy way to share my sampler and impulse presets with my friend)

- Follow action after clip ends, no matter how many bars it is.

Totally forgot..glad you mentioned it...what about follow actions that take you to 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc., instead of "previous" and "next". This kinds of limits the arrangement possibilities a lot for me.
Simple as it sounds this wil get my money as soon as it is released.
