Actually, that time when Cosm asked for donations so that he could upgrade to Live 7 was quite pathetic. lol. Much more so than this latest, er, scheme.

Christ that was lame.

But I'll still defend the guy; if for no other reason than I've learned some excellent stuff from his tuts. Lets face it, most tut videos are nonsensical wackfests in which the explanation of how to sidechain goes on for 35min whilst you suffer through some godawful tarnce track. And posts? Little better. FFS. Some of the posts (prior to COSMS vid tut) where some tard is trying to explain how to effectively use IAC drivers as a midi tool were so convoluted and ass-backwards that I might as well have been reading instructions on how to successfully flush the carb on a '67 Camero.

So yeah, I'm giving him a well-deserved pass. Blow me.

Nope, actually I was quite active on the forum a while back. I decided to change my nick, and become less active, i.e. never helpful

Really, I usually look at the forum on my phone now (you all are an entertaining lot). Not really the best medium for typing replies on a message board

Hi guys,

In my official role, I'll only moderate threads that contain things which are patently offensive or illegal.

But in my unofficial role, I'll suggest that maybe - just maybe - the incessant back and forth trolling and flaming in this thread consumes time and mental energy that could be used in better ways.

Best,

Recommendation: Move this over The Lounge where it belongs.

Same here, phone only. The only time I ever check this forum is when I'm outside smoking. Which is way too often. Occasionally someone will say something so ridiculous that I feel the need to "type" some vague attempt at rationality. A complete waste of time where the internet is concerned, there's an obnoxious drunk in every bar.

I thought The Lounge worked really well for awhile. It was nice and peaceful over here in General, all gear talk and wistful musings. Too good to last. I need to quit smoking.

Christ that was lame.
That was super lame! I saw hiom do an Ableton Live workshop in Amsterdam, Ableton flags and everything... I have a friend who helped organise an evening that was tied in with an Ableton demo and she an her boyfriend both got NFRS (not for resale) Live 8 licenses when they ASKED. I thought that particular episode looked bad on Ableton, like they have people doing demo clinics but they don't get the software for free.

About this here thread: Tom is clear about what he's asking for if you wanna support the guy do, if you don't, don't.

the certified trainer sticker under the messages in the old money thread are pretty funny... :-))

But what is this rectified rainer thing anyway?
Ableton life is not an industrie standard software like nuendo or protools..
Where is the use of certfied training when the beeing a certified trained user has asolutly no value out there?

As we can see in this thread it also dont helps the income of the rainer...

I think that certified trainer thing is a bit lame.. Ableton try to appear more shiny and pro as they actually are..
I never have heard of certified reason or fruitiloops trainers sofar...

****Ableton training camps around the world..the industry leader...****

This is actually something that comes out of the post pro world where people get hired by others that have no clue about audio...
But i havent seen ableton life in the post pro world yet.. it cant even handle timecode propperly ..no lock to timeline or acting as tc master..

Sonys Acid actually can do that.. it´s better suited for postpro tasks than ableton life since many years...

3phase, I'm not quite sure what you're saying in most of your posts, your english is pretty broken but hey that's cool. Maybe were all misunderstanding you and you really love this idea?!

Im going to guess that you purchased the genre, right?!

Hi 3phase,

If you're interested in learning more about the certified training program, please see http://www.ableton.com/certified-training.

You'll note that it's entirely voluntary. So if you think it's not useful, you're definitely not obligated to do it.

You'll also note that there are many solutions out there for music making. If Live is as awful for you as the majority of your posts seem to suggest, perhaps you'd be happier with another solution.

Hi folks,

Since this thread seems to have degenerated into nothing more than flaming and trolling, I'd propose that I move it to the Lounge, where you're welcome to use your time as you see fit.

Any objections?
