Best I can figure is either stability (best guess), don't want to piss off old recycle users (which does not make to much sense), or still want to generate cash from selling recycle seperate. Lots of folks have suggested that they would pay for recycle as an add on within reason.

Have a feeling in another 20 years we will see recycle upgraded and intergrated within reason/record

It just seems that with Record it could fit in rather nicely. Personally I would like to have it self contained and would pay for it as well, but only if there was an integrated workflow. Just doesn't seem good to me to have to open up a separate program in the heat of creativity.

But if not, for the sake of stability, I would trust their judgment and I guess, learn to live without it.

I think more like 1 year, Record 2.0. I read in an interview with Ernst that they are looking into it, and dr.octorex make me think something will happen

Do you have to use Record in order for this function to work in Reason 5?

@glenn303 - It doesn't appear like it in the vid. Sampling seems to work with a few of the inst like NNXT and Redrum independently.

Release date announced as Aug 25th.

Only two more days to upgrade from Reason versions 1,2,3 to Reason 5 and Record 1.5 for $129 (!!!)

Got my free upgrade in the post today (Reason 5, you then have to d/l Record 1.5). After usual dongling about (grrr!) gave it a quick whirl. No real surprises yet but Kong definitely seems to be the star of the show - great sound quality from the demo's at least.
