Somone mentioned Warhol, and you said he was a true artist; exactly the opposite of what so-called true artists were saying at the time. My point which you completely seemed to miss was that you were making exactly the same arguments about loops that they were making about Warhol...
You then went on a long and frankly boring tirade about how people who disagree with you must be button pressing Ableton dj lamers... Um...Either you're omnipotent or just a bit cracked... Paid my dues, can mix and scratch with the best and rock a party with the greatest of ease, don't really see ableton as a dj tool to be honest. but if someone else does... well that's their decision, and I'll not get on some high horse about how they're not conforming to the rules, of learning a craft the way I did. Or how they should at least be able to beat match manually, or how pressing buttons isn't really mixing... Or what is a dj if they can't scratch? The artform has evolved mate... move on... well I know I'm saying that to someone who has concrete ideas about the music world and the future of it, so i don't expect you to understand a thing i'm saying...... You remind me of a dinosaur: loud, fierce, small brained and heading for extinction.
sorry guy.. you sound exactly like one of theese lamer boys that build theire so called carrier on trendfollowing and ready made loopsets and factory presets of plug ins..

and the overabundance of guys like you are not the symptoms of an artform evolving..thats the symptoms of an artform dying.

what a stupid idea to compare the use of consumer loops with art ... thats really a thing only lamers can bring on the table.. magix music maker art.. pfffff
Again you completely miss my point. You are deluded in your rightousness. You have no idea what or how i play, or what I make and choose to make, yet you keep flinging these stumbling crude accusations around as if you do... It's amusing and sad... 8) Tell me my ten favourite tunes could you, and how I mix them?? Didn't think so... But you can and will assume, which makes an ass out of ...just you.
What an idiot to not be able to see that art in all it's forms takes from everything. Or that rules only make people conform... Your understanding of my points (well rather lack thereof), mean that meaningful dialogue with you is impossible...I'd love to hear how original your stuff is by the way.... Peace.

takes from evrything? to do what? its pretty lousy to deffend the practice of generic music production with such words and only leaves the conclusion that you are one of the users of theese products.

And if you are one of the users that really does somethimg own out of premade loops..than the question.. why do you resort to theese industrial mass consumer products instead sourcing some own sounds for your so arti and original music..

too lazy? no ideas?

because I defend anyone's right to use whatever the hell they want to make music with, and think that using pre made loops doesn't constitute cheating doesn't mean I use them... therein lies the nub of your pig headed approach to debate, and conversation... And the reasons why it's impossible to get any other type of point of view into your head. I choose to sample sometimes, I like to chop beats etc. I use synths, program my own sounds and do whatever else i like to do. My influences range from musique concrete to classical to ...etc... And there room for anyone else tdo do whatever they want too.
I doubt anyone would get a construction kit, make a tune from it and earn $$$... If they did, maybe we missed a trick...Your paranoid rants are just that..
And please stop telling me what kind of dj and music maker I am...please. it makes me feel you're a complete twat that needs a punch or 2.... People who imagine they are infallible are usually the most fallible of people....

so you get into the debate for others? theier freedom to use evrything and do evrything? thats very honorable from you but dont be surprised when you get mixed up with the lamers than.. and while you are wright that there is nothing illegal in using theese construction kits, andtherfore anybody is free to do it.. it is also correct to call the use of such products lame..and the users lamers

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamer

and there is nothing where i can fail here. It´s just a modern US ( elsewhere? ) white middleclass attidtude that trys to claim that laming is cool and modern art.. and i just remind to the facts that you cant buy love and you cant buy originality or individualism as theese prime loop sellers try to suggest

its their statement.. "to spice up your production with individuality.-"

and thats a lie.. you lame up your production and your name as a producer.
I personally know a few well positioned labels that wouldnt sign anything that contains premade loops..they personally feel cheated than because they want to release original artists..no fakes...

So while evreybody is free to use thoose things one should be aware off that it might damage your image..

Thats the only message i wanted to bring thru.. and you see how quickly that works..i think you are a lamer just because you defended the loops.. what would i think when i hear them in your productions?

I got into the debate because I think your opinions are pretty much as far off the mark as they can be, and because you were conflating several different ideas into a huge off kilter rant about lamers...
you dont think at all..
By the way I'm from the Uk, black and working class... Once again your wild brush strokes and generalisations lead you up the wrong garden path... As they have for pretty much the whole of your argument..
I think you are a lamer because you jump to conclusions about people with no facts to back you up... and because you have such rigid rules... and because you're too free to insult others... and because you cant debate...

what do you know about my work? nobody has called it generic sofar.. strange words for the users of premade loopsets..
so you are the masters of beat programming thanks to the aid of your mighty loops? problem nobody dances to that werad badass beat storm?

anyway.. i dont question anybodys skills.. i just question the skills of people that use stuff like prime loops.. as you would question the potence of a viagra user...
maybe not true in all cases. but in many.. especially on a loop whore forum like this.
Have you not made your works available to the general public and it is solely my opinion that your work is generic.

You have also made the mistake that by defending an artists rights to complete a composition in any way they feel ,I myself and others on this forum can only use commercial loops.

You know nothing about me. I was recording live bands on a 96ch Neve VR 20 years ago, about the same time I got my degree in Audio Engineering.....but you go and impress everybody with your groundbreaking non loop music.

You need to understand what is being posted before you jump to your own ill informed conclusions.

20 years in the audio business and you have to resort to comercial loops? isnt that a shame? funny that you say that in public because that are the statements you get usually from teens.

and ludite? you do the stuff comercially? so you are just the type that shouldnt be on the market at all? not a lamer a cheater?

And you call others people music generic? that the word generic is used for music has happened because of peopel that got the idea that they cant do it without comercial loops or stealing from other peoples records to get the cash from industry demands that by nature was ment for the original protagonists of the requested genre?

this all in case you are one of theese.. what are the worst and most useless type in the production world.. parasites..

But before i draw more false assumptions..as somebody that is 20 years in the audio business..

why do you need comercial looppacks? to achive what?

Read peoples posts carefully and understand fully before you respond it will make you look less like a cnut.

I dont use solely loops or any other process, program or piece of equipment and certainly do not need you permission or sanction to do so.

I do not and have never said I release anything commercially, again assumptions. I didn't say that I was still working in the audio business but certainly qualified enough to comment.

dont be such a pussy... when using of comercial loops is lame stay to it or fight back.. you did.. i can take that. but that dont changes the fact that the use of comercial loops is considred lame in any real producing musical scene i met sofar.. and that is from 1980 to now quite a few.

It´s actually a new thing to change that "rule" and that justifies my "insults"..
But is it an insult to call a lamer a lamer? after the wikipedia defenition its quite clear that lamers dont do the hacks.. so you cant call them hackers.. so how shall we call the people that use the comercial loops? most certainly not artists...

call it old school ideology but thats the one that formed all the musical styles you feel so at home in now.. and the todays attitute is probably responsible that we havent seen a new musical wave for a new generation for allmost 20 years now, considering that drum&bass was the last thing that appeard that can be called new ..
and all refreshments and updates of this now old genres, as dubstep for example, was again initiated by original artist and not by looptool puzzling followers.. thats again a fact and i wonder what original dubstep artists would say about theese dubstep construction kits you can buy now.. would they consider users of thos packs as lamers or fakes?

While some of that is debatable there is one undebatable fact !

you cant create a fresh meal with rotten fish..

there is no trick or gen manipulting radiation in the world that can perform this stunt

First of all: don't say I didn't warn you guys - 3phase always has the last word (I think it's mentioned in the forum guidelines).

Second: ... Actually, I had a proper rant all typed out here, but instead, I'll just let everyone judge for themselves: listen to 3phase's music - this pinnacle of contemporary music, this mankind's last, best hope for a musical work of integrity and innovation, and decide if you think it's good enough to front the battle for loop-less and preset-less music.

Personally, I don't think a loop or two would hurt one bit.

Ableton_David - please amend the forum guidelines accordingly. something's gotta change, it won't be 3phase.

to use loops or not?

some guys only like to make things that make noise.
some guys only like to make patches on those noise makers.
some guys only like to make loops from those patches.
some guys only like to make songs from loops.
some guys only like to spin DJ sets from songs.
some guys only like to put on events for DJs.
some guys only like to go to events.
etc.

few people only do one discipline, most of us cross a few disciplines. I think it's narrow minded to only consider one kind of music maker valid except for making fun of DJs because it's funny to watch them try to defend themselves.

(and by guys I mean people, sorry ladies, I'm just a dumb lazy boy.)
