Why? (1) money (the rifle something association lobby); (2) money; (3) money?... (4) money... ... ...

They justify this criminal "freedom" (to freely buy guns, bombs, granades, bazookas etc. and give them in kids hands) with that "second emendament" something, written when they were semianalphabetic cowboys and... slavery and death penalty was loyal. However, the answer is: MONEY.

Just wonder why a so puritan country (e.g. facebook bans you for one tit, a president must avoid blowjobs etc.) allows all that porno industry: "freedom"? Well, no... Just MONEY (call it "sex industry", call it MONEY, MONEY, MONEY...). Or even called "capitalism"

When has it been any better than it is right now?

Seriously, why are these times worse than any other before?

He's also forgetting the rather PANDEMIC new right wing/racism movement that has been sweeping Europa these past 5 years - and only growing.

You must be young  or wealthy, I don't know. When predatory lending in the 90's led to the economy crash in the early 2000's pretty much everything awesome about this country began to suddenly die. Shit, by the mid-90's culture had gone out the window... again. A band like Nirvana will never again top the charts. Small business... basically dead. Most of the Bill of Rights... dead. New York made dancing illegal. In the last 13 years the taxpayer has bailed out multiple banks and corporations that spend most of their time trying to get one over on every poor sucker that passes by. I could go on. The 90's ruled, but OMG we didn't have iPhones :x

Improvements in technology are one of the few things I can get on board with in the last 15 years. But, yeah. Got a run of the mill pay as you go phone myself.

The fact that Nirvana even became a household name clearly indicated that the good times were fucking OVER.

SO perhaps you can enlighten us about how you feel things have improved socially and economically in the past 15 years. Are is there not enough fodder for a snarky retort in this post?

My take on it is this - we've ascended to the top of Maslow's Hierarcy of Needs and have everything we want and need for the most part. What that has done is turn us into a bunch of "feel good" narcissistic hedonistic complainers and whiney-ass pussies. Perhaps if and when the day ever comes when we have to once again live hand-to-mouth where day by day, the operative task is to seek meat, gather berries, and worry about whether our shelter will withstand the next big blow. Only then, when we're squatting near a steaming deuce behind a rock and wiping our asses with hickory leaves will we appreciate how nice that Charmin was. That day may be hear sooner than you'd imagine, given our compulsive tendencies towards nihlism. Society is well on it's way there. :o
