and we can all marvel at your profound insights.
Too late. Each time was indeed marvelous.

Each to their own!
"The U.S. energy industry has created “more solid and liquid waste than all other municipal, agricultural, mining, and industrial sources conmbined.” 3126 million barrels of drilling waste and 22 million barrels of “associated wastes” were generated by the U.S energy industry in 1995 alone. “Associated wastes” include water containing high concentrations of toxins (benzene, xylene and ethyl-benzene etc). In some instances, this water is a hundred times more radioactive than nuclear power plant effluent. Much of this end up in drinking water systems."

185 nations:
184 say "no" to global warming and CO2 emissions.
1 answers "yes, that's very interesting all this global peace&love scientists together etc. but, hey, we are the land of freedom and we can do what the fuck we like of the world, since we are the masters, who gives a fuck about the planet, the sea, the flowers, the animals, the sky, the children... we have to export democracy".
Results: 184 nations trying to stop pollution. 1 keeps on spreading shit on the planet.
Guess which one?

KYOTO PROTOCOL:
In GREEN: nations (184) which have been trying to stop pollution since 1998
In BLUE: nation (1) which refuses to accept the protocol and keeps on spreading shit on the planet.

you keep on talking about "nationalistic" countries, but seems you don't realize "nationalism" is dead, and the only nationalist country remained are the U.S.A. (and we can see the results, alas), together with small countries like serbia and croatia. In the rest of the world anyone understands the army is for war. It is only america people who believe their soldiers are "heroes fighting for freedom and democracy". That is why we laugh at their "mythology", "captain america" included

you didn't read what I actually said then.

Or maybe it's you that don't understand why i was laughing... because you wrote:
I read an article the other day about an Iraq veteran's suicide, talking about his note, and he was talking about how there was something like 22 suicides on average a day, far more than the soldiers killed in action. A big load of them have had to deal with the shock of realising that they weren't the good guys going to spread democracy and freedom, they were just a gigantic protection racket and made to do hideous things, not for their country...
I mean: do americans REALLY think that their soldiers are not those criminals they are, but "heroes" and "democracy keepers around the world"?!!

As far as we (the rest of the world) can see when watching U.S. TVs, shows, movies, propaganda etc. it seems american people are brainwashed or something...

Sorry to say, but it's something like the hitler jugend and german people in the 30s

I was talking about what the soldiers themselves think. I think you look at a block of text and it's like an inkblot test and only the bits you want to see appear.

BTW - Australia only joined that in 2007 when the center-left Labor party got in. Before then we also refused to join.
I get the feeling Obama realises that he is going to be remembered as Bush Mk2 so he is trying to find something he can actually do in spite of the corrupt immovable system he has found himself in.
What America needs is someone like Ike Eisenhower to take the first Army and invade the NSA building like he was going to do at Area 51.

Wait, you NEED to read about an american soldier confessing "fuck, I've just discovered I am a criminal" to understand U.S.A. army ARE MADE by criminals and commit crime against humanity since 1946?!
I keep on thinking american people are brainwashed by propaganda, since their kindergarden age, with anthems, "god bless america", the marines, captain america, and all that crap.

The difference: Australia joined that in 2007 (better late than never) and now is among the 184 nations trying to save the planet. U.S.A. on the contrary NEVER accepted something like "all nations together to save the planet" because they claimed they are "the MASTER of the world", keeping on spreading poison on the planet till today (2013). Now (ftr: 2 days ago,

) Obama comes out and promises "we will save planet earth". Shall I laugh or cry?! They almost destroyed the planet and now pretend to be the saviours?!

Hi Forge,
You don't sound like a miserable bastard to me, you sound like someone who is genuinely trying to make sense of what has become an insane society.
And because, as I mentioned before to Stringtapper, that I don't believe in 'hope', I don't find your view of my passion and belief in live (including humans) to be a 'bummer'. A non belief in hope, is simply that, the concept of 'hope' or 'no hope' has no meaning for me.
Why I don't believe in 'hope'.
'Hope' is about the future, it's about something that we have no control over, therefore, it's fairly pointless to think this way (in terms of 'hope'). 'No Hope', is much the same, the problem with 'no hope' is that whilst it's about the future it can help to create a self fulfilling prophecy via inaction. Interestingly, those that are 'hopeful' about the future continue the inaction, apart from crossing their fingers (the 'hopers' believe in governments and/or technological solutions that will save us without our lifestyles changing, etc). So, 'hope' and 'no hope' (futility) are both about 'inaction', 'lack of personal responsibility' and 'the luck of the gods'.
What I do believe in is 'action'.
Action makes 'hope' irrelevant. What I mean by this is that I take the time to look at the facts and try to understand, as best I can, what is actually going on, factually, and then I 'act' in a rational way based on the information. In an insane society, this is often seen as a radical action (or 'ideological', or 'altruistic', etc), but it's not, it's sane, it's simply a decision based on good factual information.
If we take the 'car' as an example, the facts that I have already presented on this thread demonstrate that personal car ownership is insane given it's gross inefficiency, it's impact on poorer nations and it's current impact on the environment. I have many more facts about the car from the book
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Y74XX0 that demonstrate far far more of the problems associated with cars, they really are an ecological disaster, right now, let alone what they (we) are doing to the future.
Yes, the way I live my life puts me in a minority, but I know that it's possible for many more people to make these changes because of the simple fact that I did, and I did it in a very short space of time. It's not only 'greed' that stops people making rational decisions, it's also 'fear'.
Thanks for the reply, I was half ready to apologise for being so negative.
I think it's admirable what you're doing, and you could serve as an example. It could definitely be a way of generating publicity for the cause and for your music.
