Personally, I don't think a loop or two would hurt one bit.
It does put things in perspective, I'll say that.

Ableton_David - please amend the forum guidelines accordingly. something's gotta change, it won't be 3phase.

one thing I don't like to EVER do is to bash someone's creative output. so ummm, yeah, there's that.
yep..thats a stupid thing..especially when the guy is reffering to 20 years old tracks that in its time was everything else than generic or redundant.. still get request for compilation2 or 3 the year... thats not much but for a techno track? usually they last 3 month.. i can live with that that it sounds after 20 years not brand new... but was able to hold up against the competition for 10 years..thats a lot

to be fair, after listening some tracks of 3phase, I have to admit it doesn't sound like generic shit techno.
However 3phase, you should compress more on the master buss, this kick is loud but doesn't make the whole track pump enough.

To be fair, 3phases track record is not in question, I can't think of anyone on this forum who has been as an influential force in the techno scene as he has from back in the day, so he does come from a position of knowledge on the subject. Not saying he is right with all the other issues but on the loops issue, as I said before, he is right.

I say that because I agree with him and therefore in my mind that makes it obviously correct. whatever. :D

Interesting to read the interview with Mylo in FM in respect of his 2004 opus Destroy Rock and Roll; and I quote:

Track: Valley of the Dolls
"The drums came form some sample loop CD, I forget which..."

Doesn't make it right, but i guess it happens a lot more than we think on successful commercial records.

So, so pwned.
Haha! Rock on! (But seriously, dredd: don't let 3phase bait you - it doesn't stop till you stop; he gets off on this, and always has one hand in his undies when typing.)
Yeah i get that...now
