and I am not much concerned myself about the lack of sampling functions... I am happy doing sound design ITB... It is for performance where I would like to be more screen and mouse free, so Push seems like a good choice in my case.

Yeah, other than the lack of sampling/editing/chopping functions on the hardware, it looks like good fun. The real differentiating factor for Push is the 64 pad layout but it just doesn't add enough over what I already have, especially with isomorphic note layouts, scales, step sequencers, and Live-specific controllers on the iPad.

Haven't read all the pros cons on the thread but I would be very cautious supporting NI hardware products as I don't like the way they just drop product support and end product lines.

I expect that will happen less as the whole software/hardware integration matures a bit more. There is still a figuring out process going on.

I'm slowly coming around to push. I love my maschine, but really want some foot pedal connections...

Are there not any work arounds? I was considering some sort of foot pedal but just figured I could pick one up that has USB/midi connections. Havent looked into it mind you.

I have a maschine and it sits in the corner gathering dust since ableton drum racks etc can do everything a maschine can do about 50X faster.
Its crap if you ask me. Only think I would use it for is as a pad midi controller. The plugin is useless in ableton.

I would use maschine if I used cubase or logic for drum programmning but ableton already has it covered.

You gotta invest the time and make your own template. I've got drum racks mapped, pages of parameters set up etc; works fantastic! If it wasn't for that and the pad quality I'd sell it, but using it this way is perfect...for me.

Make a custom maschine template and use it as an Ableton controller and be happy. Push aside (no first hand experience) it doesn't get much better than this in my opinion. Control drums racks, transport controls, pages of premapped parameters to scroll through, pure bliss.
