Hi all. Ive modified my transeiver app to make it easyer to use.



Ive introduced a new idea of mine to the envelope editor:

Wave shape generator!!




The idea is you choose a start and end point then select a wave shape for the generator to genearate and it draws out perfect waves every time.

I positively believe this will change the way effects are manipulated to music for ever. Going to be great listening to chart music wondering if there using my idea.

Here for example i have 4 bars, bar 1 is an Linearly increasing sine, bar 2 is a sine with a frequancey of 2, and bars 3-4 is a sine with a frequancy of 1.



You can also amplitude modulate over the existing envelope, so hows about a sine with a frequancy of 1 being modulated by a sine with a frequancey of 16.



Or hows about a envelope with a linearly incrreasing sign followed by a modulated sign of a frequency of 0.5.



Ive already discovered new ideas, for example have 2 tracks with synths and cross fade between them rapidly, perfect trance every time

While the entire version finishes... what about a LITE version with customizable midi controllers? hehe, will be great

As the Abes aren't including an LFO generator, how about a plug-in using your concept? It'll be great for video and lighting.

Im not sure what/where you mean a plug-in. My controller is a general midi controller so can be used in any program that accepts midi input such a resolume, Visual Jockey Cubase ect.

If you mean create a Desktop application to do the same then perhaps you should speak to DJ grobe and his "Mono Touch Live controller".

Ive included a few extra features to the Envelope Editor. You select 2 Points (Bars go Yellow) then can Raise, lower, Shift Left, Shift Right, Reverse, Flip, copy & Paste.

Works well with great effect.

i'm starting to wonder if a 200mhz processor is able to hanlde all those data and fast midi signals changes thru wifi with a decent latency, expecially with those fast lfos... beta eta?

Nope... I mean a simple Live VST/AU plug-in to simply CC data LFO-style.

I even believe fruityloops has an envelope generator in it that draws curves... in fact, I think it's been in there since version 2 or something ...sorry, i'm slightly allergic to hyperbole And don't get me started on the LFO thing in Absynth!


This is the generator i'm using these days, a really simple setup. I have one synced and one un-synced:

It's the receiver app that plays the lfo's. The pocket PC draws the envelopes which is then sent to the receiver app to play when required.

The midi sent from Ableton is filtered by the receiving app to reduce the bandwidth required. If you think about it, if you have say 10 controls being moved top to bottom over a second from ableton, thats 0 - 127 * 10, which is 1270 pieces of data a second. Imagine if you have more controls being moved even more quickly. I learned early on in thre project I needed to filter this data, so i made a parallel page flipping buffer to filter the unneeded data(you only need the last position value).

To be honist im not designing my app to run on a 200MHz Pocket Pc, more around 450-500 Mhz with about 128M of ram, though it's only using 29M of ram at the moment leaving room for other apps.

I understand now what you mean.

An easy way to produce the same would be if I made it possible to use your existing MIDI hardware with my software so would not require a Pocket PC if you don't want to go that route. When you press A hardware MIDI button it's sent to my app which then plays the envelope assigned to that button. Should be easy to do so ill try and include the idea.

I may even build a Desktop version of my software would only require a few mods.

Oh well, still felt good for a few days though. But it is the first for a hybrid MIDI controller.

Was looking at a PC Music Mag over the weekend and looking at all these VST effects and instruments with classy vintage looking gui's. I then looked at my app without fancy graphics. So this is a mock up of what i wish my app to look like, ill do this over the next week.

Im also renaming my project, ill let you all know once ive sorted out the domain name.
