.lm. may I respectfully remind you you're arguing with a n00b.

No good shall come of it.

Seriously, Google his name and check out how many forums he posts this garbage on.

When it comes to delusional bullshit, this guy is a pro.

i think you're a little confused.

bill is just one of several appraisers at the record exchange.

he was never my "boss." I worked for Barry. So did\does Bill.

If you'd ever met pennies, you wouldn't be holding him up as the epitome of "real" Yeah, the guy is an obsessive collector, and knows the monetary value of records as objects, but he's really not all that interesting when it comes to music. He's kind of a bit of an asshole, too. But that's cool, you can idolize a guy that i worked with if you want, but i know that cat, and i can assure you that that opinion makes you even more lame.

You can spin this thing however you want, but it's pretty clear that I know more about your "area of expertise" than you know of mine (ie electronic music)

you're a funny guy.

and LM exactly what is it you know that I don't?

and to the majestic spaz that is Popslut, for a guy that's from California, that lives in Canada that thinks he's an English slang expert & pop music a fish that I wouldn't bother nodding to, you're quite the kook at being delusional yourself.

Ahh right.

You're mentally ill. I thought you were just a troll.

I apologise for baiting you and I hope you get some treatment and it all works out for you.

Welcome to the forum.

what do i know that you don't?

for starters:

that regardless of whether or not you like autechre's music, it takes more that a "basic knowledge of VST" to create said music.

I'm also aware of the fact that no one who actually makes electronic music would EVER use the phrase "basic knowledge of VST" or try to tell anyone that the term VST could be used for and software based music production.

DrXparaMental wrote:BTW. What's with everyone's aversion to VST? It would seem like even the simplest mind would equate Virtual Studio Technology to more than just a trade mark plug in type. I would say that the term clearly encapsulates all DAW, all computers used for music production and all software contained for related purposes there in. How can one logically by definition of the term itself argue different?

OK I'll bite, only the simplest mind would equate VST with all DAW/electronic music/etc. It's almost engrish, and it seems to be the fatal flaw with you; you seem to have an unsettling lack of ability to see your own weak spots to the point of empty bragging and chest pounding about acquired knowledge etc. and to top it off you then turn around and clearly demonstrate your lacking of said acquired knowledge. Plus gems like these:

Techno/all electronic music originated in Detroit.

Musicians you don't like are not musically trained.

Forum members you don't like are younger than you, or office types.

Styles of music you don't like are done by rich kids with too much time on their hands.

A vast knowledge of music makes you a better musician or more worthy of commenting on music.

Anybody who disagrees with you is obviously in need of an ad homonym attack, because simply stating your opinion about something isn't enough.

Bitches don't be knowing about your mad VST skillz!

A homonym is one of a group of words that share the same spelling and the same pronunciation but have different meanings.

For example, bear, lead etc.

"Ad hominem"
means:

1. Appealing to one's prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one's intellect or reason.

2. Attacking an opponent's character rather than answering his argument.

Hope that helps.

Again your hindass, what's the problem of saying that Virtual Studio Technology is that which makes up the big picture of, what else, Virtual Studio Technology?
Techno/all electronic music originated in Detroit.
NEVER said that in the least. What I CLEARLY said was that TECHNO was birthed in Detroit and all the subsequent derivative shit to follow was just that, DERIVATIVE. Got it?

Musicians you don't like are not musically trained.
NEVER said this. Show me where I said that?
Forum members you don't like are younger than you, or office types.
Only someone as obviously stupid as yourself would even dream of fabricating this type of bullshit. Close your mouth, your letting all the flys out.
Styles of music you don't like are done by rich kids with too much time on their hands.

Again, never said this chummly. Your ever present retardation represents Popslut's & LM's hard dollars at work here.
A vast knowledge of music makes you a better musician or more worthy of commenting on music.
It can't hurt, but nope NEVER said this either. Your batting 1000. Good boy!
Anybody who disagrees with you is obviously in need of an ad homonym attack, because simply stating your opinion about something isn't enough.

Bitches don't be knowing about your mad VST skillz!
Your too much! Ever thought about a career in modeling? I'm thinking the Special Olympics poster boy might just be YOU baby!

PS, To the grand poobah of thread retardation and ruin. (Leisuremuffin related). I NEVER said anything about your pathetic Godhead Autechre as being "easy" or "basic" VST knowledge. This is what I said and I stand by it firmly (unlike your limp smoked pole related manhood)

Autechre is boring as heck. Just about as creative and musically REAL as nerds can be i guess. No groove, no melody, just squeaks n bleeps with a little elonGATED BS thrown in to break up the manotony.

That's what I get for rellying too much on spell check, thanks, I'll remember that.
