OMG!!!! Fuck a Bitwig!!!

It's NEVER going to be released!!!!

And even if it is I'm not buying it unless it's a.) Really Cheap, or b.) The Second coming of Christ!!

Either way I'm sick of hearing about it!!

But they are so much better than Ableton, you see.

As has been pointed out on this thread many times, Ableton Live differs from Bitwig in the following important ways:

• They *never* respond to user requests
  They are *terrible* communicators
  Their website is *awful*
  And they haven't released working software since 2009.

They actually have a product you can buy.

That's the difference that matters to me ATM, and probably,

They have a relatively stable product.

I'll be excited about Bitwig when it's out, stable, and proves that it's got real world advantages over Live, not before.

I was being a bit sarcastic.

All I'm saying is that as much as i LOVE tech and audio gear and DAW's etc, I am NOT ready to invest in another platform.

I'm quite happy w/ Ableton as my main DAW. It does everything (and more) that I need it to do and does it well.

Paired w/ my VST's, hard-ware, controllers, and of course, MAschine, I am completely satisfied.

I've mastered Live over the past 6 yrs. or so and the last thing I want is another system to learn.

I'm sure Bitwig will be cool and maybe even offer a few advantages over Live but as I said before, unless it's ridiculously cheap (which I can guarantee it won't be given the hype surrounding it) I won't be an early adopter.

How long ago did we first hear about Bitwig? Well this thread was started Jan 12 2012.. what's that 18 months??
So how long are you going to give a brand new DAW to be made readily available? Built from the ground up, EVERYTHING new..
The term 'clutching at straws' comes to mind here..

Well, I have a gig tomorrow. So I guess I'll be using Ableton for that then.

Well, I have a gig tomorrow. So I guess I'll be using Ableton for that then.

There are a couple of things Live already have over Bitwig:

1. It is already out.

2. It is already an established DAW.


Ableton has some time. It would be very hard for Bitwig 1.0 to overtake Live upon release. No matter how hard they try to get all of Abletons functionality in it with improvements, there will be some oversights. Bitwig 2.0 could be a problem though.


Also Bitwig seems to be following Ableton, so all Abe's really have to do for version 10 is really innovate and throw a curve ball and keep Bitwig chasing them. Also that said, I'm sure Ableton is visiting Bitwigs website, so I'm pretty sure Abe's know perfectly well what needs to be improved.

Don't get me wrong, Bitwig might turn out to be amazing. But until (if?) it's out, all the shouting that Bitwig is better than Ableton or whatever is so much hot air. An amazing peice of software in 2014 or even in July is no use to me now. I have tunes to write and gigs to play.
