My iPad 2 is in Anchorage, Alaska. :x The shortest distance between 2 points is a straight line and Alaska is nowhere near that line. They’re trying to Angry Birds arc it to me. :x

I’m wondering if Apple is considering entering the broadcast TV market. Some are thinking they might do something more along the lines of competing with Netflix but I’m talking along the lines of competing with cable and satellite companies. Maybe we’ll FINALLY have a system where we can pay for just the channels we want, per channel, at a total price that would be substantially lower than cable packages, and be able to view it on TVs, computers, and idevices and not have to rent proprietary boxes. My cable company rakes me over the coals to have access to a ton of channels, 90% of which I never watch.

And I’m sure TV networks would be more than happy to have a way to receive direct compensation for their broadcast which also might increase the quality of programming if they’re battling it out for direct dollars as opposed to their current antiquated ratings and targeted advertising (which we all fast forward through) system.

No no. It's a converter desktop application for TV shows you dowloaded that's a one stop shop. Toss your TV show file(s) in it, it grabs all the tagging data for it including artwork and a bunch of other stuff you problably wouldn't bother entering manually (HD icon), and then it converts it to a format iTunes/idevices can read, and puts it in iTunes. All with one click.

I heard the new Plex update is pretty good for this too, haven't tried it myself though.

I use Plex in my living room on a mini for a media center interface and the nice thing about it is there is no conversion needed. It plays avi and does all the tagging in the background and displays it on the front end. Also the interface is stunning and makes front row look like poop.

I don't have the iPad app for it though. If I just want to stream movies in avi format to my iPad or iPhone then ZumoCast does that but it doesn't do the tagging, just displays the file name.

Similar but not as impressive as that video I posted showing glasses free 3D images, here's a free iPhone app.

^ Okay, well this thing is already BETTER than the MIDI Mobilizer because it relys purely on CoreMIDI.

WIN.

No separate SDK required for app devs.

However, no where can I find exactly what those two cables are going to....I'm assuming it's to standard 5pin MIDI plugs but...? If it goes to a USB connection, that would fucking be HOT.

Here's a video that doesn't show the connection type. :x It's in Spanish, so perhaps anyone knowing that language could tell us if the dude mentions how it's connected.

Oh gee, another MIDI adaptor. I hope Korg comes out with one too. Won’t that be just as exciting. :x

Seriously, the onslaught of MIDI adaptors, attachments, and external boxes is ridiculous. It’s like getting excited over the RCA cable display at Radio Shack. The only thing to get excited about it is the possibility that any of them work or are supported universally….and then they don’t and aren’t. Hasn’t MIDI been passed through simple standard cables for like 30+ years and yet here we are like it’s a yet to be proven protocol with some kinks that need to be worked out. WTF INDEED!

I’m deducting 3 magic points from all idevices for this world class fuck up. :x

You know my position on this issue = :x

Douchebag companies like Korg, who have to go and use a PROPRIETARY Midi sync method for iElectribe and the iMS-20 = :x

That they could have done what Finger did and just do the fucking thing via CoreMIDI = :x
