We have no intention to continue the beta forever.

But we want to make sure that the general consensus on this version is that it really is an improvement before we call it an official release.

Best,
So, can we can expect Live 8 final in 2011...

Really you want a program that has bugs?!?!?

this is the first time I've seen this request...

8.1.1 has been solid to me, and I have been working a lot with it. But I can confirm this specific bug with Fabfilter Pro Q.
I thought it was the plugin that did it though.

1st crash after a couple of days use.

Crashed when opening up a track written on 8.1.1.

Crash report over 50 mb, too big to email. 8O

A few weird little things happened. After recording, went to undo record, but live wouldn't let me.

Had to highlight and delete.

A few hicups when trying to delete midi assignment to SL 37.

Mostly running ok.

Angry rant excised.

Geez man, it sounds like you need to dump Live and stick with the 100% working other software you refer to. And maybe take an anger management class while you're at it. Since all you're doing now is raging.

The other thing I never see discussed is Mac vs Windows bugs. Maybe the code base is neutral enough between the platforms, but just scanning over this huge thread it seems most of the time people are raging they're Mac users. Is that at all accurate or am I just badly biased.

For my part, 8.1.1 is faster to load and more solid than other 8.x.x's I've used, but I am diffident to report since I'm just a hobbyhist, and not a professional relying on Live's stability in order to pay my rent.

I have my nervousness about feature bloat (since the entire kitchen sink of devices and controller support is all in one giant application) but even considering that it runs very snappily for me. Every time live has a major upgrade I've argued with myself whether I really need it, but have ended up buying each one since v2.

YMMV. Take a deep breath and a walk around the block before posting.

when you love a program it's like the love for a woman,
sometimes you get angry after, but once the tornado has passed, you have sex to make peace

well now we can't tell "poor windows user with their bugs..." anymore
we're all on the same boat now
mac vs pc is a nonsense war.
I know people who have both mac and pc, they work with both and not complaining

best.

Seems pretty good here.

Only one crash, and that was caused by Mehlohman Symptohm player (the free one), but the crash dialogue registered the Symptohm DLL as the location of the crash.

Otherwise it does seem snappier, and more slick, like I remember 7 being.
