Anyone having a problem with this causing Ableton to slow down?

Ableton has been running VERY smooth for me. The day I install this and relaunch Live with LiveControl running in the background, the Ableton startup screen hangs at "Creating new Live set" for up to 5-10 minutes. Did this every time I would launch live.

So I removed Livecontrol TO from Control Surfaces in MIDI prefs, relaunched LIve.....and instantly everything is fine.

I'm running Live 8.1.3 on a Mac running Snow Leopard 10.6.3. I'm also using Automap Pro 3.4 and Digidesign Hardware.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Once Live finally opens, the iPad communicates with it fairly seamlessly. No complaints there!

Also, in what sequence should I launch things? LiveControl > TouchOSC on iPad > Ableton Live?

Problem is you need a decent response time for that, the midi remote scripts arnt time accurate, youd need to do the drum pads over midi or something along side livecontrol. Not worked out a good solution for that yet.

Drum pads and keys via TouchOSC. Looks pretty tight.

You dont need LiveControl running at all before Live, its just there to configure the text file. Are you using IPs or bonjour host names? If host names try ips instead, maybe its taking a while to bind to the bonjour host.

hey there, ST8

i wanted to see if there was a way to incorporate your preset, and script with my own while using osculator on my own touch osc presets.

is this possible? i have made my own presets that i use all the time, and would love to have them both going at the same by switching pages.

thanks,

jeff

@ Keepy,

I think ST8 maybe in the process of adding this functionality to his script but for now I made a little osc router type device in M4L that takes the messages from the iPhone/iPad and then sends them out on multiple ports. I have tested with osculator and M4L devices while running livecontrol and it seems to work fine.

If you check this thread over at the monome forums I have posted a zip file there.

http://post.monome.org/comments.php?Dis ... 797&page=5

If you have any issues please contact me via email or leave a post, in fact if you get it set up and it works could you let me know (just for piece of mind that it does work).

I have also made a modified touchosc template for livecontrol with added pages for a drum pad and a keyboard and a couple of M4L devices to go with them which I will upload tomorrow (they need a bit more work).

Oh, by the way, you have to watch the names of objects in the touchosc template as it is possible to have, for example, 2 labels with the same name, like 'label3', which causes issues with feedback from the computer.
Cheers Stax.

Ho! That would be incredible.

BTW, got LiveControl running with no issues. An amazing piece of work. Kudos.

I've been playing with Touch OSC since the Ipad came out. LiveControl is the next level for sure.
Installation and set up was easy and fired right up.

Drumpads / Keys would be cool.

Str8 - thank you so much -

ST8,

Brutha, can't thank you enough for this app. Been putting it through the paces and it's a blast to use.

Not sure if others have mentioned this before but it would be great to be able to hit a button in clip view, then when you switch over to the FX, that track is automatically selected and ready. Just saves from having to scroll left or right if you didn't happen to have that particular track selected/highlighted.

Again, stellar work and donation sent. :)

Copied from monome.org

http://post.monome.org/comments.php?Dis ... ment_99867 - go here to download .zip file

Hi,

I have finally finished making my drum pad and keys add ons for livecontrol.

I have done this using M4L, so you need M4L for this to work.

The .zip file should contain 2 TouchOSC templates (1 iPhone/iPod, 1 iPad), 3 M4L devices and a set up guide.

I have an iPhone so I have not tested the iPad template, although it is an exact copy of the iPhone so it should work

Using the oscrouter M4L device you can route osc messages from the iPhone/iPad to the M4L devices for drums and keys, also you can route osc messages out to osculator (or Max/PD etc.)

I would like to thank ST8 for his templates and MIDI script, amazing work man.

Any problems please let me know.

Cheers Stax.
