Do you mean for apps that already have implemented iTunes library access or just saying that some do and some don't yet? iTunes library access is a new feature of iOS4:
http://createdigitalmusic.com/2010/07/1 ... d-dj-apps/
The way it's implemented is for apps to make its own copy of tracks after importing directly from the iTunes library.
beats me wrote:This also made me realize how does one preview tracks without them being heard out the mains? Sure beat matching is becoming a dated skill but are we really taking it to the level that you don't even need to hear the incoming track at all, "it just works"?
DJ Player app has "2 independent stereo outputs for stereo PFL and stereo master on WLAN with the DJ PLAYER NetOut app"
Quixpin has "Multiple Output Modes":
* Standard PFL Left, Master Right mode
* Switched PFL Right, Master Left mode
* Full stereo mode (no PFL) for visual mixing
* External mixer mode, Deck A goes to the left channel, Deck B goes to the right channel
For Sonorasaurus, you can cue tracks independently of the master output by using a Y-adapter. Both outputs will be in mono, but that's not such a big deal as many club systems are in mono anyways.
Hot Wax DJ Player also says you can "cue tracks independently"

Because the limitations of the iPhone I wouldnt expect to do proper mixing anyway, at least not without some kind of 4 channel iPhone sound card. If you dont have decks or a laptop at a party, you could always connect a couple of smart phones, provided you got some kind of mixer.
(whats the tiniest pocket friendly 2x stereo ch mixer btw?

)
@Delicious: Sonorasaurus does not appear to have a free trial/demo. Im not ready to buy yet another possibly not-working-as-I want app. And also. most my tracks use a lot of panning effects, so mono is a no-go. I rather use 2 devices. iPhone + iPod Touch, etc.

I'm reading reviews for apps that have it implemented but it's working poorly.

You talking about apps that mirror what's on your computer monitor? That's too much clicking around and menu diving and the refresh rate probably isn't currently up to snuff. .
Have you guys not heard of Air Display?
True, the only way to have full Ableton on your iPad, any software for that matter, and touch screen

I'm pretty sure that I am the only person who mentally hears
Human League - The Touchables whenever this app is mentioned. Like a kind of theme song.
It's my age, I'm sure.
