it ain't that new, and in all the years of owning it i've had so many bugs when using it with live i've pretty much switched over to using bidule instead. i still try it out occasionally to see if it finally plays well with live, but it never quite seems to fit the bill. even the new XT2 has some issues...

it's a shame really, it's actually a really good program... and the new synth/sampler and drum tracks are a good thing.
Hp Elitebook 2.8Ghz. Live 7.0.14 & Live 8.1.5, XP Pro. and stuff...

and energyxt is only windows and linux, no max osx. how bout "get with the program" to energyxt for that one since I would definetly use it if I could.

Who knows ???
It will cost well over 100USD and you'll be beta testing faster than you can scream LIVE 8 with front page website previews  .
Somewhere between a rock and a hard place is actually nowhere.

A new Ableton plugin called "nevermind"?

What does it do?

It has drug-induced casual sex for you and handles all the paparazi while you contemplate a new image.

That sounds like much more fun than a vocoder.

Less exotic too.

Too little, too late.

Its funny how all these good concepts like Live and Energy XT inevitably turn into "almost a DAW". And with DAW I mean software like cubase, logic, DP, nuendo,...
Because users didn't like that software and want Live to become the very thing they didn't like.
I hope that new product has more Cycling then Ableton in it.
Max 5 is a MIDI Editor short of replacing the session view.

I don't see anyone asking for Live to become like any of those products, I often see people weeing their pants about it supposedly happening. But never see the actual requests.

most of these sort of reactionary jibes are based on weird straw man arguments. I have answered this freakish idea numerous times and it keeps cropping up.

The majority of people as far as I can tell want : recording automation in sessionview, more flexibility in the application GUI and in the routing, the ability to crossfade audio on one track so they can overlay it like a looper or make multiple takes in one track, they want to be able to fold multiple clips into one clip - either as a folder track or a 'metaclip.

those are the most common sort of things I see requested, but if someone happens to say "you know crossfade audio on one track, like in cubase" . Fuck me, call the Wahmbulance because here come the pant wetters.

they don't mean: "make me a cubase, and please ditch the session" they mean "can I have crossfading audio" and are using an example.

That's very true. Maybe they are looking to move demanding Live users to MaxMSP, and get DAW users for Live?
