Nice dude. I think people that are 15 should not be allowed to use forums.

I would rather choose

>not being a total homophobic dickhead

but then, that's just me.

it might not have that, but it is an interesting read...

Given the range of tools and functionalities that are present in Bitwig Studio, is there a chance that new, less expended users might get lost in the features? Do you think Bitwig Studio might scare away people who don’t understand the technology yet?

No, I think it’s the opposite. I’ve been a Logic-head for a long time, and if I were a kid who was getting into Logic for the first time, it would be overwhelming. It’s such a big program now, with a lot of menus and functions. Since Bitwig started from scratch, we were able to make something that was very lean, like a Swiss army knife for music production that doesn’t jump out at you like a Microsoft Office package. It’s nice that people can use version 1.0 of this program and learn more as we continue to upgrade it. They can start by using our synthesizers and effects, and then in version 2.0, they’ll be able to open them up and see the modular system that we used to make those devices. This way, they’ll be able to grow with the program.
i like the initial notion of what he's saying here, but by the time you get to the last couple of sentences he is essentially admitting that 1.0 is little more than a launchpad for 2.0... (probably/understandably because they need some ROI) so if you're really trying to get at what Bitwig wants to be... you have to get past 1.0

One thing I like about the whole thing at this point is that their major improvements for 2 are already laid out.
Ableton and MOTU are the two manufacturers of DAWs I currently use, but both act like the rest of the "pro" DAW world that are all publicly traded companies in that they do not disclose their roadmap. Emagic talked about what the next version of Logic would bring, but Enron screwed that up for everyone when they lied to the market to up their stock prices. Now Pro-Tools, Logic, Sonar, Cubase etc. cannot announce features they're working on.

Ableton are tight lipped, and that means unless you really wanted Push, or thought it was a great idea to not allow the Live browser to search the entire file system of your computer if you so want, then Live 9 was a big let down. I know I still haven't bought it, as 8 Suite suite my needs for now, and they want $300 to "upgrade", not much less than the traditional cost to crossgrade to a new DAW. It's not future tripping that makes me wait, it's curiosity, I admit that the prospect of paying a measly $100 compared to upgrading Live has me curious as to Bitwig.
I just can't imagine that Bitwig is going to charge $299 for the 2.0 release, so to a degree the only rational reason to think about Bitwig before release for me is financial.

You of course realize this is just as bad as people future tripping on Bitwig before it's released right?
This entire thread and every one on the internet is just a venture into speculation. When it comes out and we all get a chance to play with it, then I suppose some actual comments pro or con can be made with anything approaching rational thinking. Until then all the naysayers and fanboys are just talking about a football team they've never seen play…

I think the title of this thread needs changing(according to the results)... what great migration, maybe curiosity if anything.

Why peep's get their hopes up on a pipe dream I guess makes the world go round. :?

Actually, it was pretty funny. But you are too angry lately to see that (I have my suspicions)
