Nice set up, but the paintings have to go.

What's the degree on the wall?

I even used a laser mounted on a tripod! Those monitors are simply amazing.

EDIT: they are a bit to high, though unless he is standing while mixing or he should point them down on an angle. easy to do with the iso pods
That must be the perspective of the photograph. They are set up so that the spot right below the tweeter is at exactly my ear height when I sit up straight. (Trying to discourage slouching while mixing!)

because to many people still think bigger is always better: http://www.genelec.com/learning-center/ ... selection/
This was invaluable when I was shopping for monitors. It showed that the 8030 was the ideal size for my room, and it seems to have been correct. The 8040, which I was really considering, would have been way too much. As it is, I need to barely turn up the volume to achieve a comfortable mixing level.

Hehehe, those paintings are probably the most valuable (monetarily, not necessarily personally) items in the room. I am rather fond of them, though.

That's my BSEE from Cornell University.

Agreed tis a nice set up but no cat = no cigar.
My ex-wife got the cats. There is a picture of them on the right on the desk, right next to the Virus. Does that count?

Emboldened above: That's ALL that matters and it makes me feel honored that you have shared them here. I love art, especially real paintings. I admit my taste in art is far too bizarre for many, but give me Kris Kuksi or Robert Williams any day of the week. Those paintings have a very loungesque appeal to them.

Cool! They are very loungy indeed. They are by Michael Godard:

@ outersphonglia: do you turn all the lights off and turn on the dj lights even when your just practicing by yourself.. probably helps to get you in the zone.. that looks like a total party room.. nice..

I like the integrated water bottle holder on the drums..

Haha, snare head LOOKS bad, the kick drum is actually busted all the way in. Drummer got a little too excited.

Got a few links of the stand, I'll probably post some pics of just the stand and how I did it later tonight.
This is the stand, Quick Lock 2 Tier X style stand.

Then I kinda custom fit a wire "locker buddy" rack thing underneath the bottom tier.
Image

And the top tier is the top surface of a lap desk. Without the foam soft part.
I used little velcro squares on the bottom of the korg nanoKONTROL and my laptop that line up on the top "shelf" of the stand. It also gives the laptop 4 soft feet to chill on when it's placed somewhere else.

Oh and about the DJ lights.. The band is just me and my buddy who plays drums and does sampling (our set up is similar to EOTO, but we're trying not to copy too much 8) ) so we put the lights on for our friends when we're partying, that picture is me poi spinning with some LED lights + DJ lights + awesome sound activated rope lights that everyone needs to have. The integrated watter bottle holder should have been BEEEEERRR! I'm gonna pick one up for my side of the rig.
