ST8, any updates on your pads?

I am in the process of converting the oscrouter into a max runtime patch so it can be used with osculator/max/pd etc., it works but needs a couple of tweaks. the drum pad and keyboard can be done but requires a bit more work, when i get some time i will give it a go.

Just don't get this. I bought this app quite some time ago, user Ableton live 8 intro, have apc40. I have never seen this app work

Do you mean TouchOSC? LiveControl is free.

Its working, but ive got no time to work on this until the end of next week. i'll try and push a new version out around the 5th june.

Say I've noticed that track names past a certain point on the Mixing screen stay on default (Tr_). Everything else tracks/updates just fine.

Hi,

I have made a copy of my M4L patch that run using max runtime, so you don't need to have M4L. You will need either MIDI Yoke (Win) or IAC Drivers (OS X), you will need 2 buses.

The set up of the IP addresses and ports is exactly the same as the M4L versions, so refer to the set up pdf in .zip file. The only difference is you have to set the MIDI output. The drum pad should be set to one bus and the keys should be set to another bus.

You will also need to set the MIDI in on the desired track(s) in ableton to one the the two MIDI buses you created.

^meh. No joy. God I fucking hate Max and trying to figure out all the port crap and whether or not I should be using the IAC or MaxRuntime outs. Shit never works out of the box and you follow the instructions and there's always some obscure setting you missed.

Nope i dont have m4l, the router is built into the LiveControl.app

Well, hey, maybe someone smarter than me can get the thing working.

It's preety simple to set up 'out of the box' and there are no obscure settings, use IAC's as outputs. Setting the IP and ports is just the same as setting the config for livecontrol or in TouchOSC on the iPhone/iPad, which I assume you know how to do, lol.

I have plans to add some more pages, including a kaosspad type device with a quantized recorder, release amount and chian selector for controlling effects racks. And a hack of touchmonome by JKnights. I am new to max so I am using this as a bit of practise, but what I am going for is a virtual version of my home set up that I can use where ever I am.

Well, hey. I at least had fun tapping the pads and keys and watching them light up.

I left all the port numbers at default; saw no need to change them.

Fired up live control first, got my iPad's IP and filled that in. Got Live going and made sure there was a connection with LC, set the incoming MIDI in the prefs to receive the IACs. Got my track MIDI inputs set. Then I started MAX runtime, loaded the OSC, changed the laptop and iPad IP numbers accordingly. Started the pad patch, changed the IP to match, selected IAC Bus2 as the output. Did the same with the keys.

Then I took a nap because I was exhausted.

Switched over to LC on the iPad and....nothing on the pads and keys. Everything else in LC worked fine, so it's definitely a MAX/routing/port issue somewhere. But, then again, isn't it always? lol.

When I was messing around with MAXruntime and patches like molar, I remember how painful and wretched it was just trying to get those to work with Live via rewire. Ugg. It work work about 1 out of every 5 attempts, lol. Based on the dozens and dozens of threads about this on the monome forum, it was clear I wasn't the only one that noticed this.

Sorry about this, like I said I am new to max and these are the first devices I have shared, but your feedback is gladly recieved. I will check again when I get home.

If you get chance, and have a spare week to set it up could you let me know how it goes? I would like to make sure everything is working.

Cool. I'll try this again in just a bit and post some screenshots of my setup if I can't get it working. You've prolly got nothing to be sorry about. Two things are happening: I'm a dunderhead and Max is picky and finicky as shit.
