Re: Giving up drugs - it's easy!
I think it's the pious tone.
While the book has clearly helped a lot of people there are a lot of people for which nothing will stop them except death.
So it's a bit annoying to say that just by reading this book everyone will be cured.
I don't think that can be true.

I gave up fags, cocaine and MDMA all via pure willpower. I don't miss any of it.funken wrote:Yes, and people who give up via the willpower method spend the rest of their lives in misery, missing the alcohol.shadx312 wrote:Forge. wrote:my cousin still goes once a week despite being sober for over 15 years...Yeah, forget that your cousin has been sober for 15 years, that's not what's important here. And yet Easyway cures people completely in 4 hours. Which is most successful?
Let's just call a spade a spade here: funken has no willpower, hence he doesn't understand those who do. He's like a marmot trying to understand squirrel porn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbXcAwF2aE0

But your post says "easy"???funken wrote:I've not said that Ian. They claim for smoking, 90% stop for 3 months and 51% stop for a year. But bear in mind that many of those failures will have another go, remember what they have learned, and be successful on another attempt. Das Schutzenfest!
Yeah, there's nothing more helpful than some guy getting in front of your face and shoving a book, quotes and everything else down your throat when you didn't ask for it, worse than a Jehovahs Witness. And then repeating it like a broken record.

If you said - "here's a book I found helpful" then it would have just drifted down the forum with a few reads and no replies.
As a way of generating a lot of interest in you it's succeeded brilliantly.
Is this your strategy?

Fact is, you're an addict reaching out for help. And one with a titanic gift for rationalization. But, it seems you have a few pals here willing to help you regardless. Judging by your words and behavior, you're in deeper than you're letting on.funken wrote:Mummy mummy, that funken posted a thread saying it's easy to quit drugs, and it made me cry!shadx312 wrote:Das Schutzenfest!

Pretty sure if this was in a public place some guy would knock you out and most people around would be thanking him.

I'm guessing you're not even comprehending the book completely.
Permanent knowledge is not a cure.
Cancer for example,
The doctor tells you to eat right, take these meds, do these treatments, put yourself in a positive environment and think and feel positive and you will get better over time.
The knowledge alone doesn't amount to much.
If this book is at all effective, there must be a part where they lay out a plan of action. That's where the power is built/re-enforced, in the following actions.
People dont spend years attending 12 step groups because they are experiencing a long "curing" process. They aren't jonesing for years plus.
They majority of people who stick around in 12 step groups for more than 2 years are simply there to help others who have shown up for their first day and are scared and desperate.
They dedicate themselves to a lifestyle, same as eating healthy.
Someone who was once fat, spent years working out and loosing weight and dieting is not still living healthy because they are fat, they are there because the lifestyle feels good to them.
Kicking drugs and staying off drugs are different stages.
Someone in a state of addictive psychosis does not simply snap out of it.
It takes work.
It's easy to not choose to go back to addiction once someone has redefined their neural network out of habitually practicing a different lifestyle, within a different environment, among different people.
Week 1 of quitting drugs, thats much more complex than gaining knowledge.
You can read a book on guitar scales, but muscle memory only happens because you physically practiced.

its worse than you think, if he doesn't reduce his stress he is going to go blind, yet here he is, starting one provocative thread after the other...i'm starting to think it must have been a bs sob story he told me, because who would be so fucking stupid as to go on and on like this? some kind of conflict-addict i supposeFact is, you're an addict reaching out for help. ...Ok, there is a bit of a plan...
...I vote we stick on topic and try to avoid analogies.
However there is one analogy that summarises the Easy Way...
Reminds me of when I was tring to quit drugs.

I have a letter from the Royal Eye Hospital saying that my eye condition can be worsened buy stress. It is the 5th leading cause of preventable blindness in America. I am already borderline for driving. So take your pathetic posts and stuff them.
I started a thread on the Easy Way method, followed with great success by millions. It is not provocative. The idea was it might do some people some good. Unfortunately the message is getting buried by an avalanche of shit posts from twats like you.
Oh by the way, I was at the Eye Hospital today and my eyes are a tiny bit worse.
Everybody has it rough greenhorn. But i do have 2 boo-hoos for you.
