Re: Movies
Adam Sandler is frequently seen wearing basketball shorts. It’s been suggested he wears those so it’s easier for him to shit out a movie.
Re: Movies
The Guest is pretty good. Available on Netflix streaming. I guess you’d call it a suspense thriller. A guy randomly shows up to the family’s house of a fellow soldier who died in combat and…

Re: Movies
An older movie, but Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World is a quality film. If you haven't seen it I thoroughly recommend a large doobie and reveling in the sound design!

Re: Movies
It's often used to demo home theatre systems. It's wonderfully atmospheric with the ocean and wind fx, the score is a beaut combo of classical and modern textural sound design, and the battle scene sound fx are superb!

Re: Movies
Excellent. I haven't seen a movie high in a great atmosphere in awhile. The last one could've been El Topo but it was on a 21' monitor and I ended up wanting to work on music instead, which means the last one must've been The Dark Knight (2008) at a nice IMAX theatre. And really, I think I was kind of turned off by the whole serious militant/NSA nature of the flick and I would've preferred to just see The Joker in every scene doing whatever. And I really didn't like Gyllenhall as Rachel.
I think I need to hook a friend up with a 5.1 system and a Roku because that's when I'm usually watching shit and gettin lifted.
Actually I remember a couple months ago we were close to watching 13 Assassins blazed but the dvd was so glitchy it played more like it was going through an M4L device
Cool as an art piece in the background, but not watchable at all, although I did notice it was the heavily cut version with a funny scene taken out of it anyway so...:/
But yeah, with seafaring adventures I bet it's fun:)

Yeah. Unlike yer Pirates of the Carribean its 100% accurate to the period (1805). It's like peering thru a portal into another era

It ain't my Pirates
but I know what you mean. Talk about being transported, I remember seeing Interview With a Vampire in the theaters toasted and felt pretty transported into the time period :p
Re: Movies
Agreed on all points, Master and Commander is pretty epic.
didn't realize the director had so many home runs.

Re: Movies
Peter Weir is awesome. He was attached to direct a movie of Neuromancer for a while... I would have LOVED that!!

Can't wait for Hitman, it's my all time fav game series, including the soundtracks.

Re: Movies
watched Ex Machina over the weekend. that was pretty cool... makes me wanna cover up the front facing camera on my phone though. the parallels between what was being discussed and one very large and influential search engine IRL did not go unnoticed.
i also watched a documentary called Sirius. if you can get past a certain level of "are these fucking people for real" it's actually quite good. so, if you do decide to watch it... give it time. the whole is better than its parts. i enjoyed it over all, 4 stars (no penalty for people being dorks).

Re: Movies
Is the new Mad Max worth seeing in 3D? I haven’t seen the movie and haven’t taken advantage of my 3D TV in ages. I’m considering sucking it up and preordering the 3D blu-ray that comes out the beginning of next month.
Re: Movies
The whole thing is one insane car chase... So yes. 3D it.
it's ridiculously over the top though, so leave your shoes and disbelief by the door before enjoying it.
