puts it all into perspective
Paws and SJ - I get what Mikemc means here - he is looking for a way forward and at the same time acknowledging average american ignorance an these issues
but as you have both pointed out these issues are staggeringly complicated
the reality is the British Empire stirred up alot of this shit a long time ago, but if you look at the world history leading up to WW1 there were alot of "empires" and if they hadnt someone else would have for sure
doesnt make it right, no, but sadly I'm a bit of a fatalist on world affairs - I'm not really sure I believe it is possible for human beings to get along en masse because usually the peaceful ones who see things as they are are not the same ones who get involved in the military and war mongering
the ones who are attracted to war and violence are usually the violent ones, which sadly means there will always be someone dragging everyone else into war - and they could be from any nationality on on earth
Having said that "seeing things as they are" is also what the Government leaders are doing, but what they are seeing is not all the nice things in life worth protecting from violence, they are seeing the profits and trade deficits and inflation and debt and all things money. So they are seeing things "how they are" because the world is totally run on greed and/or ambition for power - even the relatively "ascetic" cultures like the taliban that you could say arent driven by money, are driven by power instead
So the answer? Fire up Live and make some beats because all of this shit is far too depressing to think about, because we're insignificant blips on the bottom of the pile who have no real say or influence on any of this really.
The only way any of us could have influence is to get staggeringly rich or become president of a super power - and the latter is very unlikely without the former
that's my bleak world view at 30, I would love for any of you to prove me wrong
