But trolling the forum to enforce moderation is part of the solution, not part of the problem?
If you're serious about that, be aware that you create a "... the terrorists have already won" situation for those who decide on moderation, preventing your strategy to work out. Give it a second thought.

There is no strategy, there is only a few days of fun while having a flu. I created Crash to start the 10 minutes song challenge. Didn't work out well. Now my flu is nearing the end and this thread reached another page.

Time to end this thread by quoting someone who quoted someone who posted shit, puke and macho. <wave> everyone for the time being <crash>

Crash wrote:Baron, you might have missed my repetitive notion of the fact that Crash is a role-model. And eventhough rough language was used in his initial post about starting a song-composing challenge it was a creative and music related topic. Evenmoreso the "abusive" part of the posts were kept so blantantly obvious and generalized while maintaining friendly and supportive parts ("nice, good, interesting" inthat it's even moreso a proof of how degraded this forum has become when people feel so easily uneasy about anything.

The mass of junk has made it nearly impossible for regular users to differentiate useful posts from utter rubbish.

I have searched some through the forum, and will quote some utter rubbish from other threads on the next page of this thread. I have to wait for the next page, cause you can't read the thread anymore once that's posted.
Oh. Wait. Wha...?

I'll just assume I missed something huge here. My fault for not trudging through a gauntlet of 16 pages.

Sorry for the misunderstanding then?

Hello,

We do not need that here. thanks. Give me a link to where you found this if you don't want to see it and think it should not be there.
Also, I'm not sure we need a kind of Zorro/Batman to "clean" this place up, but of course it's up to you to think differently.

Kind regards,
Amaury

If you are not able to find "that" in your own forum (which you are administrating) then you have lost any kind of control over the place you run. Go buy some forum tools that allow you to do sophisticated search and cleanup for the smut being posted in your place.

In any case, since you are not able to convince people like b0unce and dcease and other idiots to become somewhat reasonable and refuse to do any kind of moderation you cannot stop posts like these, cause the posters will stay and go on with it.

Looks as if there is some moderation happening after all, considering how my quoting of other people's posts is [edited] out. The old smut will stay inside the forum's depths, though. Hm, am I to shout about STASI, censorship and restriction of free speech now?

Guess not, because had enough fun out of entertaining and ridiculing you and need to attend more serious business now.

Wish you all good luck in that this place grows in quality anytime soon.

lol @ crash being a major bell-end.

Anyways - excluding some recent arrivals, there's one thing I'd quite like to have clarified.... a few folks have mentioned useful on-topic threads being dragged down by intentional trolling/derailment. What are you people talking about ? This just simply isn't true on my part at least. If you weren't so caught up in the OT yourself you'd probably realise the threads that go 'wrong' in your eyes are lame OTs 99.99999999999999999999% of the time. Could that be self-moderation in effect ? Dunno.

As for trolling noobs looking for help/assistance, again - you must be talking about someone else.

I look forward to seeing you all in another riveting "obama '08" thread.

Innit.

Amazes me how much offtopic stuff goes on in what is essentially a forum about Ableton and its uses. If I want peoples political views I'll go to a political forum.

wow  timur is leaving again... i tried to ignore you, i was weak. you are an annoying, whining, self-centered egomaniac, as is evident in the thread to which you are referring to. to attempt to delete the help you provided free of charge, save your time spent, is laughable. that crap (excuse the pun), has no place in this forum. most of the people here have a good sense of humor, you have none. you wanted to leave, i merely attempted to aide in that decision. that thread clunked up, and went into the abyss, where it belongs. there was nothing valuable in it, it was a pure example of a "troll" thread, from beginning to end. to complain about trolls while trolling, is ironic, at best.

your help is valuable to this forum, but does not deserve to come with a premium.
