my room is very narrow!
I can sympathize! ;)
Your reply has helped me a lot. But I still have 2 problems:

- I can select plugins now and edit parameters, but how can I open the GUI of a 3rd-party effect or instrument with the MCE?
- The knobs seem to work "slow" - in other words, they change values very slowly. Is this possible to edit?

Is there a diagram (or some kind of instruction) that shows what all the buttons and knobs functions are? After a while I will figure it out, but it would be REALLY helpful to know right now what a certain button or knob will do when I use it. Maybe I have overlooked this?

Thanks again!

This is a Mackie Control issue(maybe).
The one impossible by MC is impossible also by emulation.

There is a topic of knob acceleration somewhere in this forum.
(To my regret, I am not a specialist. )

The manual is included in my file(MCE3 for live5.zip) .
A Japanese font might be necessary to possibly read it.
and also see here
You can customize your emulation.

Cheers Namihei. It's too bad that I can't open the GUI, but not a big deal - I just like to have that visual feedback.
The manual should help a lot though, and I'll look for the knob acceleration topic in this thread (hopefully it will make sense to me). :)
You've been a great help!

Also, if you use the flip button to edit the parameters that you want, the first row of encoders in the area where the majority of encoders are will work faster than the top encoders above the buttons.

Updated files features added, layout modified.

I found this to be awesome way to work.
I have modified this to my own liking.

Added
Returns (vpots/faders/mutes/solos all work with return tracks with this)
Undo
redo
i/o
both footswitches 1 zoom(clip fire) 2 undo. (cheap foot controls for hands free clip recording)

Moved jog and master to the right hand side.
Moved zoom, scrub, option view to store learn exit etc.
Moved transports down to bottom right set of buttons.

Why bother?
Footswitches and returns are awesome.
Pdf documentation on usage and preset transfer.

Find these files at

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/bc2000/files/

You will have to join the group to get.

Sorry, I don't have any better place to host them.

PM me if you have a free hosting solution.

I have a tascam fw-1082 and seeing this I have been trying to get the encoders and the faders to work as the mackie's encoders but it doesn't work right. If I move the encoder to the right the value jumps to the left and doesn't move like it should. I have the lcd read out which is great makes me want the mcu even more.

This is info for all that are looking for snappier response from thier BCR 2000 rotary pots for those quick automation moments. I found them a little slow on the pick up so have resolved the issue.

I give full credit to whoever originally posted this on the forum, I just figured I should re-post as I had to go through pages and pages of the forum to finally find it.

It is a bit tech but not really too involved and well worth the effort for the response you get from the encoders once you make those adjustments,

hope this helps whoever needs it and thanks again to the original poster, amazing nugget of info.

all the best.

Step 1.
Use Midi-Ox or equivalent to capture a sysex bulk dump of the preset on your BCR2000 you want to modify. (To send it, hold down edit and press preset -> on the BCR)

Step 2.
Save this sysex bulk dump (probably in the region of 15000 bytes).

Step 3.
Open it up with a Hexidecimal editor like XVI32 (which is freeware).

Step 4.
Look down the ASCII text side of the screen within the sysex data for the encoder name you want to modify. E.g. if you want to do this to encoder 35, then hunt for 'encoder 35' within the text. There is a 'find' tool within XVI32 thankfully!

Step 5.
Find 'resolution 96 96 96 96' within the parameters relating to your encoder number - i.e. towards the end of the other details relating to that encoder. Modify this to read 96 192 384 768 (you'll have to insert characters in order for this to fit) instead of 96 96 96 96 Now do this for the other encoders you want to accelerate.

(Note: Apparently combinations using 1536 and 3072 can be used too but that's probably only useful with 14 bit controllers)

Step 6.
Save this back as a .syx file.

Step 7.
Transmit this file to the BCR2000 using Midi Ox etc. and store this on the BCR.

Step 8.
The encoders you did this to will now accelerate if you move them quickly but work normally (although a little faster maybe) if you move them slowly!

first of all thanks for this great soft. love to use it with my bcr...

Here is my question regarding the mce and the bcr2000:
Is it possible to just use the Plugin Control?

I mean i wanna keep my existing live template/setup (instant mapping) PLUS Plugin Control with Mackie Control...
this is just whats missing in my live djing setup... I wanna have a group or a button assigned to control the plugins of the selected track! nothing less and nothing more...

bcr2000 live7

Post by circuitb » Tue Dec 18, 2007 2:48 pm

you just need to group your plugins then
the 8 macro's can be controlled from your bcr encoders via automapping

but i've try this with live7 demo
and it doesn't work (for me!!)
no huskervu (don't recognize the app nor the selected tracks)
then no MCE+automap combo tweak with midiox
no communication from/to the BCR with one of the BCR2000 (usb audio driver)port ( emulate or normal)
strange
if you have ny ideas?
thx

Does anyone know where the original files went for this? Are they still available on the web?

Trying to help someone out, but can't find the preset files on namihei's website.

Useful for if my BCR2000 ever bites it and need the files again anyway!

Thanks in advance.

Thanks a lot. This really helps me out.

Loved your huskervu, but since I have migrated to Mac and Logic with LIVE, I can't use it. Glad that I had enough time on the PC to use it to feel very comfortable with the layout of the MCE.

Cheers,
