thing is, like anything, unless you have a specific need for it it's time you have to invest getting your head around it and you wont unless there is something you're trying to do

I havent thought of one for me yet otherwise I'd probably have a go

yo bitch, where's my slicer?!?!??!!!! ;)
I'm not even sure what parameters can be read by python, is there a list somewhere?

I got into python a bit but I have my fingers in too many cookie jars as it is, maybe with max/msp. I'm taking classes starting next week (www.robotspeak.com) I've done nothing with the msp half, just max, maybe after that. kinda waiting to see some good examples of coding styles, it's making sense though, amazing shit. Live 7 + OSC = invincible.

Doesn't look like it, I've been trying to get in touch with Nathan, but to no avail.

I think the forums would be more active, but Nathan or another mod needs to approve new members, and it looks like he's dead at the moment, so no one else can join.

I want to work with this on a mac soooo badly, but id deal with a PC for the stuff im trying to do for now :(

Anyone able to contact Nathan or other members of the team?

A pity isn't it?

I got deluged with hundreds of thousands of spam emails either to the project (liveapi.*) addresses, or via the forums. Frankly, it just got to be too much, and as it always does, real jobs and having a girl can eat up your spare time..

However, I've contacted Ableton to see if they could eek me out a beta-key so I can see the state of Ableton 7, if LiveAPI stuff is still viable / forward portable.

In other news, I've been working on some stuff that will make Mac users happy, but is still pretty far from being ready for prime time. Having not used Ableton 7, it might all be obviated, but..

If it makes anyone feel better, I'm not dead, just quietly digging deeper underground.

I should add, it was really a joy to open up a recent issue of 'MusicTech' magazine and see that they had mentioned LiveAPI, thanks to everyone who spread the word, even though it was only a paragraph it really made my day to think that our little project got any external attention aside from the gearheads who're pushing the envelope. But, we still know who our target audience is. :)

good to see you're still around! :D i understand you guys weren't making anything out of this so obviously it's not like we can whinge too much, but are you planning on reactivating the forum? or updating the install package so you don't have to hack the python files to get them to work? (crosses fingers...)

It depends, until I get access to Live 7 to see what the playing field looks like, any development work would be deprecated as soon as it came out. I'll say this, if there's a way to do it in 7, I'll make the time to update and make things a little sexier.

In the time since we released the first package, I've been writing a lot of Python and have far better tricks up my sleeve (as well as just plain better architecture concepts)..

I'll take a look at the forums and see what I can do about it, it's all been off my radar with other projects. Digging into OSX has been a trip..
