I sorted it later but when viewing 20+ pictures of the same glacier on the iPhone screen they all look the same.

I'll tell you one thing: If Microsoft can actually get their shit together with Windows 8 - by which I mean it's utterly SEEMLESS across any hardware platform AND their tablet ends up being a winner AND the whole thing doesn't grunt and fuss like a stuck pig - they could very well rule the day.

I still wouldn't pick another device over the iPad if I could choose only 1, but I found that when I was without wifi for a week and on again off again 3G it wasn't as an exciting of an experience, and I have A LOT of apps.

Also it was odd going up and down the coast of Canada and Alaska because I'd sometimes have my iPad out right next to my iPhone and there were a lot of times when the 2 signals weren't matching what the other one was receiving. I'd either get AT&T, Canada's carrier (don't remember the name), or No Service. And the iPad would say AT&T while the iPhone displayed No Service or vice versa.
