I disagree about the Monome. It is not a "controller" it is more a piece of art that can be used with MAX. I would even say that APC40 + MAX + Monome is a killer combo !

agree with that, there are plenty of people who will still want the monome. They only make a limited quantity anyways. There are however, lots of people who use it for nothing more than launching clips. I'm one of those people. Mine will be going up for sale this year!

He actually says it will be 399, no mention of the currency. He probably meant USD but then he sounded British rather than American. But he was an Akai employee so I think its safe to assume its 399 of some currency.

I'm sure it is USD but, I've done trade shows (not music) before and if I (a UK retailer) was at a show in another country talking to a UK sales rep then he'd have said the price in GBP.

It will end up costing about $12,000 in Oz dollars by the time it gets here.
if it follows the usual rip of Oz pricing, they will prob be about $850-900 here. I can buy a decent guitar or amp for that, an actual instrument. this thing seems way overpriced.

With the current exchange rates and taking VAT in to account, $399 should equal £315. So that will mean its 25% more expensive in the UK and would probably work out cheaper to import it from the USA.
