What's interesting to me about all this is the enemy seems to be the Taliban. Who may have harbored Bin Ladin, but seeing as how Bin Ladin gave massive amounts of support to the soviet resistance fighters back in the day that's not a moral stretch at all. Plus he's of their religion.
So, that said, they asked for one thing before harboring the possibility of turning over a national hero, that the west provide decisive proof that Bin Ladin did it. The answer was basically that we knew he did it, and we're not obligated to provide proof. Now in respect to him helping them get rid of the soviets, and standing by him when it was obvious that he would be killed by the west, it's hard to knock them per say. They believe what they believe, and will go down fighting for it.
Another interesting point, no one really wants to bring up the fact that a large portion of the resistance fighters in the north were/are in fact drug lords. So, any wonder why Afghanistan is producing some quality skag at cut rate prices now?

So we side with drug lords over fundamentalists, and occupy a nation that has the same sort of colonial history as Vietnam, any wonder how this will eventually turn out? Anybody with any common sense wonder if there might be some major holes in our hearts and minds operation?
Q: Where the fuck is Bin Ladin? Where is the effort on that, the most obvious front??
Anyway I've fed this endless, useless debate long enough. Anybody that sees Iraq and Afghanistan as anything more than colonialism in action needs to take a historical perspective, and stop evading the hard questions of western foreign political maneuvering, and look at our culture and civilization as being part of the greater scheme, not some higher level ethical civilization in comparison, but simply better fed, and stable politically. When you do that you think maybe it might possibly be time to stop invading other countries to protect our interests (oil), and time to work on our own back yard?
TL;DR You can't win against terrorism by doing the things that made them terrorists in the first place, it patently ridiculous.
Anyway I'm out..... >
