It’s like claiming you used to be able to count your true friends on one hand and then you joined facebook and now you’d have to hire 6 buses to fit them all.
fixed.
Come on, man. Do you really want to see what a world would look like where Apple never existed and Microsoft was allowed to run around unchallenged?

uh no.
that was the point. i fixed your sentence to basically say computers are supposed to make things easy, but just over complicate things instead.

Agreed, it could be so easily be a great app, but Apple seem to be fine with mediocre. I like it for mp3 versions of songs and quick disk burning etc. but any media player can do that.

The iODock is out and I've got mine on order.
The first review I've read so far is on the sweetwater site and it sounds fucking HOT.

Nice. I've been on the fence all weekend on whether or not to make that purchase before I enter the world of low fixed income.
Hold up. Fuck it. Order placed.
I think currently the only app that works with it is the Atari app but I read that they recently released the code for other developers to use it. Let's just hope it doesn't fall in line with the largely ignored iPad MIDI.

When they have decent iOS DAW's (think iLive for iPad

)then it'll be worthwhile. Right now it's overkill. And besides, the whole mantra of the iPad culture is portability. And you're gonna be weighed down by a brick that tangles you up with a wall wart?

So you can hook up all your clunky gear to GarageBand?! That's blasphemous. Please return your black turtle neck to Apple HQ immediately!

Dude. It's infinitely better than my iPad sitting loose on my stand - with a flimsy Camera Connection Kit sticking out and the 1/4 to 1/8 audio cable/adaptor coming out of the top of the iPad. Infinitely better. Also, plugging in my Stick or guitar directly into the unit without having to go through some flimsy interface that's battery powered is a WIN.

I AM BUYING AN iPAD THIS WEEK!!
Woo hoo!
I'm going with a white iPad 2 with 32GB. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a WiFi model, and get a tethering plan for my phone. This is a good week, because I'm getting an iPad and I'm getting a new iPhone! My wife's old iPhone 3G is dreadfully slow, so I'm going to get a white iPhone 4, and give her my white 3Gs.
I know, I know... The iPhone 5 will be available in 6 months... don't buy now... blah blah. It's a sacrifice. I gotta save my woman from her prehistorically slow 3G.
So anyhow, I have a question for the iNut gallery:
Am I making the right move by getting a WiFi iPad with a tethering plan for the iPhone? I'm out of contract, so I could go for either Verizon or AT&T. I think I'm going to stay with AT&T. I find that I use the phone and Internet together often enough to warrant it as a necessity. The thought of being put on perma-hold with a Verizon iPhone would S U C K.
I'm planning on tethering the iPad, with further makes Verizon look like suckville because you can't tether and talk at the same time. So I'm 90% sure that AT&T will win 2 more years of my business.
If anyone has any insight on tethering plans and iPads, I'm curious what you think.
And I saw the Titans show too. It was okay (they skip A LOT of important stuff). The film Pirates of Silicon Valley was a lot more interesting (but now hopelessly out of date).
The thing that I learned most from Titans was how Steve bounced back by transforming Pixar from a pretty meaningless animation studio that George Lucas didn't want to bother with into a $3 billion dollar profit. That's pure badass in my book.
