sorry does nada for me.. too many bloody 'blocks' in the world imo... Live is free and free-flowing, you can make valuable mistakes and for me it keeps the fun aspect of making tunes.

Didn't read the whole thread so sorry if I am repeating what someone else already posted but anyway...
Detachable windows and be able to use two monitors so I can have the clip editor on a separate screen. Also be able to view multiple clips at one time.
Please make it so

Anyone already mentioned the Spectrum integrated in EQ8?
Something like this..:
... would be delicious.

Yup
Would be even cooler if it could expand the way Spectrum does, so to have one large spectrum/eq window.

probably better to wish for a modular view construction, a method to let users put more or less of any view on a screen. Via user-configurable panes.
IE: A user could right click on a Session clip and choose "open in new pane" and it would make a new view pane displaying the midi editor for that clip. This way it would allow users to create their own dynamic layouts containing whatever they need.
EG: to 16 clip panes open at once, or
Session and arrange on the same page, or
two session panes on one screen and a mixer on the other.
user-configurable panes, that's the wish.

hot swap audio clips. (maybe this can be done already?)
and again (have been asking since live 5 or 6): view multiple midi clips at the same time, superimposed - like every other DAW.

In addition, a feature that I've seen Voxengo's Span plugin: keeping down cmnd and clicking in the spectrum let's you here just that selected band.. Really really helpful.

Live 8.1.3 introduces a new file format - documents saved with Live 8.1.3 or newer will not be able to be opened in older versions of Live.
Isn't a file format change the criterion for a major version update?
Maybe we're already using 9!

Everything you all said, plus an integrated Score Editor for us composing folk.

64 bit. I'm so sick of seeing this message:
I've got 8 gigs of RAM in my laptop, let me get at least twice as much work done before Live goes and crashes on me.

I didn't even know that feature existed! Thanks Paul, you just made my day! Going to try it now...
