something about this forum brings out the worst in me apparently, something i've never experienced on any other boards, some of which i frequent much more often.
i don't visit other sites more often, i did in the past, thou... and i basically getting back to it... because i can only feel with you!
reason: i feel like a healthy discussion on here is hardly possible... it has a lot to do with this forum not being moderated
and some of the 'old' very frequent users of this forum act like they have the right to moderate,
but without having any deep knowledge or even worse real world experience. they are mainly just in love with live.

and we have a saying in german, love makes blind and stupid in the head...

ok, i have to go back to work. using mainly live 8 by the way.

p.s. but i disagree with absolute everything else you said about audio/live/non live/etc.

ahhh.... and another thing... i used to be a supporter of the non-moderated idea... but i am not anymore.

because of way to much bullshit going on around here. waste of time.

cant we all agree to disagree...
TBH... so u sit there with your wicked ass SOUND SISTAM aka daw and peripherals...and its all superduper kinky wicked clean...
it all comes down to this: do u make music that u enjoy or talk a bunch... if u´re in it for the music... respect... if u´re a soundnerd... respect
just dont try to be both at the same time on this forum...

live might not be the best but it sure as hell is good enough... and so is cubase, logic and so on...

if u like live, use it. if u prefer logic or the others... use them...

the only thing interesting on a forum, regarding this topic, isnt word of mouth or anything else... its hard empirical facts

that would be my 2 cents... now... stop the bitching and make music...

...wonder if Quincy Jones ever went "yeah, cubase has a 16bit floating point architecture... its teh shite"...bollocks...

^^^ yeah funny, makes me think of an event i was just about a week ago... all "pros" around... sadly half of them where deaf, according to the way they performed (in respect of managing the sound and volume)... it was rather hilarious. and i was surely not the only one wondering.

as i see it, most "pros" nowadays dont know shit about music..
i´ve been into music for a long time... and i´ve released some things here and there...
but it´ll take a gooodamn long time before i call myself a pro...

ppl throw that word around like it doese'nt mean anything...

and if ppl like chiptune music... i mean come on... cant we settle on the fact that live is good enough...
i know i love it even though i dont have access to it right now so i use logic... and when i get back to live ill use that...

i just dont see why we all cant get along ;)

it does mean something... making money and a living from whatever it is you are a professional of... absolute nothing else!
people who earn money with something do not necessarily have to be any super good or seriously knowledgeable...
not our days anymore anyway... it can have many 'levels' of quality or, well no quality at all and you still can work.

i mean, do you think a serious engineer, one with real skill levels would work for something like behringer... NO! surely not,
he is still a pro if he has a job. -just as an example!-

pro means nothing in the context of quality.

no i get that... thats the websters version of the word...sure im down with that
but if i were to say that i was a pro... u´d get another vibe from the word... "that dude has to be good otherwise he wouldnt get paid"...
so it does indicate some quality and therefor ppl would regard me in another light if i were to refer to myself as a pro... what i mean is that this word has been used to mark both quality and ability to make money and now it just means the latter which in my opinion sucks.
It sucks that Bob Katz and I would be in the same category just because we both make money on mastering (i dont master nor do i claim to, its just an example)...

get my point? its a bit late here and i seem not to be able to get my point across...

i get you... but seriously it really means earning money from what you do... that's it. fair enough that a certain skill level is asked to be able to earn money in the first place... but after that it can have a thousand stages of quality or non quality how good or not good you do something and get paid for it. so the word pro is not really a quality measurement and never was.

jeez, i mean if i think of my experience just recently, many, many audio pros around, sadly most of em' where seriously deaf.

enough. i start to waste time again... damn forum. damn love for live LOL.

it's funny how you show up, insult people then go on and on about how pro you are without actually contributing to the thread. you've got your head so far up your own ass you don't even know it.

if you're a pro you should be fired and your customers should have their money refunded. you post a LOT of bad information on the forum. in case you haven't noticed, you're a bit of a joke around here for defending awful information.

as for the bad vibes around here your pride has done a LOT to wreck threads.

don't like the forum? stop visiting it.

 at people who sit around talking about how pro they are.
