MackieControl emulator for BCR2000!!
beatretreat wrote:thanks to namihei for his groundbreaking and very inspiring work. thanks to husker for the huskervu application. thanks to flipotto for his video and manual.
the first downloads of flipotto's files were corrupted so i wrote another manual, describing the original MCE3Live.syx preset by namihei. also, on my system i transfered the sysex data with behringer's editor application (i got err22 when trying a sysex librarian). if interested, i could send it attached to an email, or maybe namihei or flipotto would like to host this on their webpage?
good work. thank you so much.

Yeah, I will host it.
I also, have a new preset that goes beyond cool.
All in one and the unused knobs are now rotary switches...
that do one thing when you turn clockwise and some thing else when you turn counter clock wise.
More to come soon.
Also, check out the new editor over at the bc2000 yahoo group.

Revised - mackie preset for bcr2000...

screen shot of bcmanager
Scaled back to 1 preset (with more functions than the two from before.)
Added functions by using knobs as buttons -via sysex. (thanks to Royce and Mark's editor )
Think of them as rotary switches. That do 1 thing when turned clockwise and a different thing when turned counter clockwise. bank <+>
cursor < + >, and up down.
View clip-fx/bottom, browser/arrange-session
previous marker, next marker.
So the bottom row from the image has 6 rotary switches.
Moved faders to top row, Bar leds indicating levels.
Resolution changed, if you turn knob slow = slow increments, fast = large value changes. In fact, can go whole range with quick twist.
Vpots moved to 3rd row from bottom. Similar resolution adjustments. Quick twist = whole range, slow = small changes in value.
Ok - it is ready.
Get it here - http://shoshin.110mb.com/genmce/bcr2000/index.htm
enjoy...
Thoughts on other functions that might be useful, 6 or 8 knobs remain free for other controls?

Fristly, the new 4.1 is pukka, great to have all on one preset.
Still though, having some prblems selecting vts's:
I can get all funtions to work with the MCU (old and new versions) but for some reason can only select 'fx plug-ins' (using vselect/plug-n buttons) and not 'vst instruments/synths' themsleves.
Using Huskervu which shows all perameters for the fx plugs but does not show/focus on/list anything for the synth.??

Thanks for all your efforts so far. The first things I changed were: set toggle off for Loop and Rec buttons.flipotto wrote:enjoy...

In my case I have even more slots open as I don't use some of your encoder definitions like
- Home/End
- Browse/Arr-
- ClipFfx/Bott
Let's say we are satisfied with the MackieControl settings on our BCR2000, what would be the next step after MackieControl?
e.g. can we change the presets of a vsti via MackieControl (or with another workaround) already?

0. vselect button
1. plugins button
2. topmost left encoder pushed
and then your first vsti is not selected (and also not shown in huskervu)?

Now also set the Plugins button to toggle off. So you can easily and fastly select up to 8 plugins in a chain via the controller sequence on the BCR2000:ton wrote:... set toggle off for Loop and Rec buttons.
plugins button (showing you your plugins in the chain) -> 1 to 8 of the top encoders pressed. (selecting the one you want to edit)

At present I have BCR2K (usb connected) Fast Tack Pro (usb connected) & Evo MK461 (connected via midi to fast track pro).
Currently using MCU 4.1 with Huskervu & Midi Yoke.
MCU is now working fine complete with visual feedback etc.....new problem is:
When I insert/use vst synth etc.. if the I/O on the vst track is set to 'All ins' I get loads of random, constant notes being played by what seems to me the midi yoke channels (I have selected/de-selected the midi set up buttons in preferences and this only seems to stop when output to the midi yoke is dis-abled.
The only way to cure it is to select 'Fast trak pro midi in' for the track which is not that much of a pain to do but....just wondered if I'm doing something wrong as cant remember it happening before.?? (set up all midi as per the illustration in the MCU 4.1 pdf manual)

Why do you set the I/O of the track to "All ins"? This will bring all midi events which are received by Ableton Live to this track and why do you want this? If you just want to be able to play your vsti over the keyboard, just select it's midi output port as the input of your vsti-track rather than "All ins". "All ins" could make sense if you would apply afterwards in a midi chain various midi filters which will keep only a subset of all incoming midi events.Warminstrel wrote:MCU is now working fine complete with visual feedback etc.....new problem is:

Insert a midi track yourself and tell me what it defaults to?
Only recently had the problem when using midi yoke with huskervu/mcu.
Is there anyway to change the default? Not managed to do it myself, just have to keep changeing it when inserting midi tracks which aint much of a bind but still a pain in de ass!
cheers.
