Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
If you have Max for Live, you can accomplish MIDI pitch modulation in real time, which lets you send "MIDI pitch offsets" from one track and have them be picked up by other MIDI tracks, where they transpose whatever is playing on them. The transposition occurs at the device chain level, so it doesn't alter the clips themselves. This ability, which has existed since 2015, doesn't cost anything, so long as you have Ableton Live and Max For Live on your system. This capability greatly increases the convenience and flexibility of working with MIDI on Ableton. For example, you can create a MIDI arp which uses a clip as the source of its pattern. But the main way I use it is for an accompaniment when I'm improvising: I use my left index finger to change the key of the accompaniment tracks (e.g., bass and pad) while I use my right hand to play the lead. Here's my YouTube video on the subject: https://youtu.be/6N5a2qsQgQg?si=T1PZmpWpdoR0hqYf. I'm mentioning this now because I'm thinking of going back and making some enhancements, but am not sure I want to do that if only 1300 people have used it in the past 10 years.

When assigning controls to a macro, you can specify Min and Max values with two decimal places. So it seems. However, if you enter a value with more decimals, that higher precision will be used.
