this isnt a thread for establishing whether or not God is real.

personally i was a strict athiest from the age 10 or so until the last couple of years and would like to respect both sides of the coin without demeaning and calling what somone may or may not have spent serious thought on coming to terms with as 'imaginary'...

I meant no disrespect to religious people.

but is this a thread where you are to demean people because they make a spelling mistake then?

Sorry and again no disrespect meant. I'll go back to the composing now

its cool, but ill make one more distinction.. you can believe in God without being religious.

p.s. my nickname / forum handle has nothing to do with my spiritual beliefs lol

you can believe in God without being religious.
I think i'm more the opposite, i don't believe in god but wouldn't mind getting married in a church for example :)

Of fucking course.

M-fuck is not defending any country, he's only there under his delusion, which comes from his 'masters'; who are all scraping the pork barrel in their little circle jerk for greed.

Try getting support for protecting Whales and these pork barreling cunts will run you into the ground. Which is unlike M-fucks cause, the Pork Barrel bearing cunts just shovel the money in for a complete illegal activity.

sweetjesus wrote:totally off-topic but the correct term is 'may God bless' not "god bless" unless you feel you're in a position to tell God what to do.
That's not true, SJ.

"God Bless" is not an imperative directed to God. It's the textbook example of a frozen subjunctive form, like "Long Live the King". A 'may' or 'would that' is implied.

I don't think I've ever actually heard anyone say 'may God bless' either..

I heard a priest in a very serious conversation once say the world's shortest prayer is 'goddamnit'.

fair enough on the technicality, but you have got to be kidding that you have never heard "may God bless"..

(not meaning that in a passive aggressive way either)

Actually not, but then I've only been exposed to a fraction of the amount of English you have, luv..
