Oh loosen up Simon! It's the raw juvenile silliness that works for Python.
It hasn't aged well.
No funnier than circus clown acts.
I like juvenile raw silliness like jackass tv, but Python just is'nt funny, what can I say, nostyle - just public school toffs with nasal voices that anyone could create.
Pessimism aint what it used to be.

Maybe your problem is in the "lyrics". If you like textless nonsense like Jackass and think anyone can create just "nasal voices" then I am not entirely sure wether you really listened to what the characters spoke.
HAL: I know I've made some very poor decisions recently, but I can give you my complete assurance that my work will be back to normal. I've still got the greatest enthusiasm and confidence in the mission. And I want to help you.

Each to their own. I enjoy the shows you mentioned, but Python still brings a smile to my face.

you can't really judge vintage comedy by modern contexts. python was truly left-field and pioneering in its day and the scope of its influence is indesputable.

Speaking of Fawlty - I've never seen anyone laugh so much as my Mum when Basil beat up the car with the branch of a tree.
