1. why does this have to be an iPhone?.. does this trickery also work with Nokia?

2. I thought you weren't crazy about Apple appliances?
or just so you can hang out with the fem-techies at the Genius bar?

1. Lost in translation: I was making a sad commentary about how pathetic I've become sucked into my macfag toy.

2. I'm not crazy about Apple's policies, sticky crappy software, and pricing. I never doubted that they have superior products.

3. Re the Genius Bar...Thong Different...

LOL, I'm the king of the fake-eye-aversion technique. Forget the iPhone, it takes real skill to act that interested when all you have is a regular cell phone.

Also, that lady in the picture above kinda made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.

Ok, no flame war...but just stop thinking like a fanboy for 2 secs and think from a skeptical PC guy's perspective...

PC guy gets an iPhone - thinks it's the greatest. PC guy then MUST install iTunes to sync the phone. That's the first WTF moment...why iTunes? What if you don't ever wanna put movies or mp3s on the phone? Why not a simple sync function, like so many other tools? Then the icing on the cake - iTunes installs no less than 4 services on the PC, adding about 40mb of RAM to the startup. All for stuff I don't need. So, as a skeptical PC guy, if this was my first experience with Apple software, do you think it would make me run out and buy Logic Pro?

Just offering a counterpoint, my friend...I know why you love it, and I don't blame you :)

*hugs*

nebulae wrote:Easy...when walking past the person you don't like in the hallway, just pull out the iPhone as though it has just buzzed you with a new sms/im/email. Then look intently into the phone while you walk on by. No need to avert eyes or any of the other high school nonsense you normally pull...a much more mature way to avoid eye contact. In fact, the more intently you look into the phone, the more legitimate your eye-contact-aversion. Hell, you don't even have to turn the phone on, as we all know how the battery life sux ass, so might as well conserve juice.

why not just punch them in the face?

Next time I'm in austin, I'll give it a shot, and then let's see if I get sued or not. :P
