And swing. Otherwise we'll just have to create our own beat repeat. 8)

I was really hoping for a nice "Comping" function, I've got a Proceedure that kinda works but it's a brain dance

Stuff that I didnt see any hint of:

There are a bunch of workflow type functions for simply giving more sensible default to loop start/length when you chop up audio into looped clips - its really annoying after chopping having to go and manuall set the loop start points and lengths. Perhaps this can be fixed via MFL somehow, however it could have allready been done as well.

8 assignable knobs on the external instrument and external fx plugins that can be named and assigned to MIDI CCs of your choice as that you can easily automate an external synth with named parameters. Even better if you could define lots of them as an external instrument fo a specific type, for eg, v-synth. Again, perhaps this is something that can be sorted via MFL.

Support for dual monitors - one with session view open and one with arrange view open - being in arrange mode and not being able to see the mixer/session view is a quite a workflow annoyance.

I guess its a wait and see thing - be great of some of the above made it into RTM, or an update, particular the dual screen support if the others could be adressed by users via MFL.

Group tracks and crossfades should help a hell of a lot, I'd have thought.

I wonder if the looper will keep tempo if your just jamming with a guitar instead of the first bar.

Have you seen "Buffer Shuffler" here http://www.ableton.com/extend ?

I think we'll see all kinds of Beat Repeats showing up.

is there clip grouping in arrange? I didn't see it.

also -- can cross-fades be made automatic (whenever you move one clip to overlap another) or do you always have to manually draw them? hm

Great! Guess I'll cancel all other stuff and lock myself in the studio until 2010

...they don't talk about OSC, sharing with max is amasing but osc would be cool to deal with other apps...

also it ll let me wait till when really taking the "record staight to a clip on a multitouch screen" major rewrite, still insane to not be able tweak midi and rec on the fligh', maybe max patches but i really hope so..

At the end of the article at the c74 page:

Observers will send out data (to OSC if you define it like that) and I bet Live will receive OSC data, too (via Max4Life?)

There's track grouping. Is that what you mean?

From video, yes, looks like you drag the clips over each other and the cross fade appears. You can then adjust the curve.

I hope you're right ..I like patching in usine more than max, usine communicate via osc, I hope the two max/live don't only exange values together via python or whatever via a "closed link"

no, that's separate. I mean being able to select several clips in the arrange and assign them to a group, so you can move and otherwise alter them as a group. A pretty standard DAW feature.

I hope you are right, but it didn't look that way to me.

I don't really get it.. what do you all mean with session view automation?
In session view, you have clips. So what's wrong with clip envelopes?
