the enhancement suggested in step 5 would not harrow a single user.
having the lengths of follow actions and loop-braces match the clip length would help anyone who uses the loop button or follow actions. For those that don't use them, this change would not get in the way, as they require the user to activate them.

currently these features are not being realised as efficiently in the workflow as they could be, because the default settings are arbitrary and require manual effort to change them - and they are always always changed to match either the full clip length or to a value containing either the start or end of the clip.

just because this is of no value to you does not mean that it is ill conceived or not worthwhile

Well, it might be a good idea, it might be a bad idea. Try it out in a thread in the feature request forum, if you feel that passionately about it. If you can manage to get 10 pages of, "+1's and I agree's," I'll eat crow.

Until that day...

Number 5, along with the rest of them, is an ill conceived idea.

youre a bit late with all of this!

Beta testing is about ironing out the bugs of new features its not about adding new ones, the feature set will already be locked down. You should send some email to ableton support if you want to add your ideas for features for the next version.

Also a just a tiny tiny fix please:

On the track input routing dialog, raise the 'no input' from the very bottom back to the top with the rest of the options.

Thank u

We want our users to test this service as early as possible, in order to tailor it to real musician's needs as much as possible. The service is far from being finished, new features will be introduced and changed constantly. Beta stage will last as long as needed, we don't know more yet.

I've said it before and I'll probably say it again.

BTW - that quote is from the "sharing live sets" section, which is separate

ALSO it would be very nice to select the tracks that you wish to separately render. Not one at a time OR all of them. A simple selection would be very convenient if/when you need to do it many times.

@ Rave
I may have missed the point but you could solve some of these issues by creating your own project template with all the fader settings, personalized utilities in each clipless channel.
When you start a set nobody want to be staring at 60 empty tracks. Just not convenient.

You can't have it both ways!

Templates are a good way to address most of the big (non-editing) issues raised in post 1 without required a rewrite of anything.

plus it also saves a lot of clicks for doing something more, um, creative!

If you can't be arsed to even do that then I don't know why you bother trying to make music in a DAW.
Nice one rave, I'm happy that you have an opinion...

Despite of raves flaming, I would still consider the possibility of having "save as default preset"-option in Midi and Audio tracks a great help and time saver. This would conveniently work exactly as the option in all the plugins.

Instead of a template set, you could save a live set into the browser containing one track with the level you want and the input settings you prefer

any time you want to create a new track, grab it from the browser (have that set bookmarked). Not exactly what you're after, still involves some manual effort, but just offering suggestions

i did that for a long time and it works great. Now i just build everything again from scratch. It's all in your head, but i hear you.

Damn ? this got stupid quick.

AFA #1, Live 8 has group selection of tracks. You drag select all tracks and drop the faders simultaneously to -13db or what not. Couldn't be easier to implement with little or no problems.

#4 is the one that bothers me. I use about 6 external instruments and FX, and my work around is to have them all represent in my template, that way all audio and MIDI connections are there, otherwise tracks do tend to default to the wrong setting etc.

A template folder with a dialogue box would be nice, of course this is also possible to implement yourself as a set, create a folder and use a super bland template for fast opening, and change it to whatever template you need, 60 audio tracks etc.

#4 is the big one here to me, being able to group select tracks fixes #1 IMO.

#5 is a PITA that if they can would be cool too.
