Tricky, Morcheeba, FSOL, Unkle, Portishead, Bomfunk MCs, Zero 7, Hooverphonic, Sonic Youth, Bjork, Ian Brown, Curve, Garbage, Fluke, Republica, Iggy Pop, and many more.

I was born in 1973 and really disliked a lot of the mainstream 80s music. I couldn't stand it. I was a drummer in Jr. High school and pretty versatile in my taste in music, so I listened to a lot of Sonic Youth, Sugarcubes, and on the flips side I really like LL Cool J's 'Around the Way Girl' - go figure. As the 90s came around bands like Curve, Garbage, and Republica appealed to me and I worked my way into the 'electronic' genre like Massive Attack, Morcheeba, and Portishead. I guess you could say that I was never glued to one specific genre. There were bits and pieces I like from different artists and never felt like I had to classify them. That's probably why I like bands that fuse elequent vocals, melodic tones, gritty bass lines, and funky beats.
