Trig White Noise along snare sound

Post by stefski » Thu Dec 09, 2010 6:41 pm

How is this best done? I got a Flatpack snare (606_SD) that needs some white noise with each trig. I tried dragging one operator into the device chain. How do I get the snare to play Operator's white noise?

Is Operator what you'd use for this?

did you drag it to the same drum rack pad? You will need it to be on a parallel chain so they both trigger together and choose white noise as your waveform then set the envelope to a shorter amount so it decays properly as it will be fully open when you first load it

but you might need to be clearer on what you're doing so we can know why it's not working

Not sure you can call the way I got Operator on there as on

Expanding the drum rack snare sound and throwing it on the way I did here.. not the right way to parallel chain. How is it done right?

What is proper decay? The fact it's fully open had me think the attack might be important. Decay would be the way I'd like it to fade out. Sorry, haven't been able to try this out fully yet.

regarding Pads, it would have been for the top drum rack "2 FP-Class" in the picture - dragging Operator to the pad that the other snare is on would allow it to be triggered by the same note

Sorry, I just meant pull the sustain down so you can use the decay to have it fade out like you say - by 'Open' I meant with the sustain all the way up the white noise will play for as long as you hold the note, not usually what you want for drum sounds
