Yeah, I'm still thinking about selling the dual gig and 800mhz powerbook, then getting the 12" 1.5.......... Live is pretty fun to write in, and that sure would make it easier........ :)
just do it already! :) i just checked ebay completed auction prices..
not knowing the specs of your machines you could get $900-$1000 for the TiBook and $1,000 to $1,200 for the Dual 1ghz G4.

that gives you enough cash for you to take your pick at any one of the new G4 powerbooks, 12" or 15". if your machines are well spec'd you might be able to afford a 1.67ghz 15" superdrive. and thats like having a G5 1.6ghz.

the longer you wait, the lower that resell value will be.

but oxford and webster's dictionaries list Aluminum as the official US spelling. we're just going by what those books say :P
Only there cos of your cultural hegemony. If Victoria was still alive we'd put you in your place.

edit - Oh fuck. I'm so lost on this anti-america trail I forget I'm not British. Damn!

Yeah, I did this once already with a bunk for audio 667mhz powerbook, and it turned out OK. Thinking about it I could probably get 1200 for the G4 tower? I have four hard drives in it! 8O
Would probably go for the 12" if I can figure out if my vocalists 12" 1 Gig machine is Gigabit or not, if it is I'll go with the 15" 1.5 probably, need to put RAM in the thing right way IMO....
Considering I'm writing in Live almost as much as Logic these days I really should. Show coming up in early March, definitely after that!

bro, no 12" apples have gigabit ethernet.

i can tell you that right now.

better to go with the 15" for ram reasons too. max 2GB vs' the 12"'s 1 slot for a 1.25GB max.

Well then gigabit isn't as important then. Right now the only mac I would be networking with would be the 12" my vocalist owns..... so firewire is the way....
the other consideration is you are allowed two copies of Komplete 2, I would be able to load my vocalists machine with it, and just give her rendered Live sets to work on at home.....

Sure it would be nice for a year or two from now when I get another desktop, but not necessary........ Shit! just forgot about Wormhole. With Wormhole I could get a PC running V-Stack and Reactor and record it all into Live via ethernet. Of course you can do this with firewire as well......

Something for you to think about Adam, Wormhole is the only PC/mac audio streaming software I know of.

I am a total gearslut....... just a whore....

well you definitely have alot of options with those G4's to sell. no matter what, it will be a good upgrade.

i'll have to check out wormhole some day indeed.
