terragong,

Thanks for the link! At a glance, the content looks to be a bit deeper than where I am at the mo  , but may serve me well in the future.

I don't want to toot my horn and appear like a Rick Snoman fan-boy, but if it weren't for his first edition of the Dance Music Manual, I would still be fairly lost in the world of electronic music production. I mean, sure, he touches on 'some' music genres (notably the most 'popular' ones), but I think a book encompassing every single genre would make it rather thick (in this case, the DMM is already filled with enough information to digest for being -one- book). I don't think that's necessarily bad, personally, as I do enjoy most of the genres in which he has written about. I know his second volume of the first edition has included a few other genres and updated on a few other pieces here and there and corrected some errors in the first volume.

He's working on a second edition for the Dance Music Manual. His first and second volume of the first edition is intended to be rather simplistic, as he's claimed it is to be an 'introduction to dance music production' and aimed at amateurs who are looking to get started. His second edition should, hopefully, include much more information for those who have been around the block a few times.

This is what I've read off the forums associated with Rick Snoman and his books, and his upcoming video series for music production.
