I seem to have a problem with the demo of Live 8 with the configure settings.

In the FAQ's

Why aren't my third-party plug-ins working correctly with Live 8's Configure Mode?

I have followed instructions to resolve this issue but cannot find the application data or more importantly the options.txt file which needs altering

"Windows XP/2000

Launch Explorer.
Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
Check "Select hidden files and folders."

following this did not reveal the applications data folder??? I must be doing something wrong!

I have not as yet enabled the 14-day free trial as I want to be able to fully appreciate what Live 8 can do and not spend time trying to find a fix for the bug....any one have any idea?

thanks

edit : just to add, this the route in Windows Explorer that I'm using to find the Application Data

C:\Program Files\Ableton\Live 8.0.1

and the folders that are available are
Docs
Legal
Redist
Install
Program
Resources
and the PDF licence file

Should the Application Data be in this section?

Ok ok... so I have found the Application Data here

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live 8.0.1\Preferences\

but no Options.txt?

you have to create the Options.txt by yourself and write in the commands you want to take effect on live

cheers

Hi there,
i did everything with the Options.txt file what they say, but i have still problems with the Oddity synth.
It still won't recognise any parameter when configure mode is on.
Does anybody knows how i can get ableton recognise the parameters of the oddity?
I am using it in a new project, and now i cant continue working on it.
It was no problem with the 7 version.

Thanks

ewistrand wrote:Your IDs are completely out of range- that never should have worked to begin with. Your max ID is 100, and your max ID in use is 401. After I sorted and compressed IDs, everything's in range. Your max ID always has to be greater than or equal to the max ID in use. Sort and compress IDs is your friend; it's on the last page of the instrument properties.

Try this:

SuperSaw

If my Max ID is less than my Max ID in use how do I change it?

NEVERMIND, got it!
