The samples themselves are simply universal wav files, perfectly compatable with Live. I don't think Battery's being discontinued for Maschine, they are totally different. However, I think Maschine is going to get more of NI's attention for a while. Having said that, there is yet another update due for Battery...haw many years has B3 been out now, and it still has issues???
