Yes.
No preference on OSX, I'm guessing it has to do with how app packages work compared to .exe files.

It is possible to have multiple copies of the exact same version of Live on OS X. I doubt that this Option would appear though.

I think I'm not being clear.
There is no preference for this in Live on OS X. The way you run multiple instances on OS X is to duplicate the app and run the two instances simultaneously.

Now that I have heard of. Thanks for the clarification.
Would be nice to have it as a built in Option for OS X, if possible.

Hey guys I'm having trouble copying and pasting between two ableton sessions. Looked like someone on this thread was doing something like that. Ine the event that's not the case and this is impossible, doesn't anyone know why you might want multiple sessions open at the same time? This is the only thing I can think of and is honestly kind of critical to something I want to accomplish.
What I'm trying to do is make a live set that combines several songs from other sessions. I've already combined all the stems but I'd still like the ability to bring over midi data as I please. Anybody here done that?

I think if you navigate to the song you want to bring midi over from using abletons browser, you can actually see your midi clips and drag them into your session.
I swear I saw that on the interwebz.

Hmmmm. So apparently nobody tries to run multiple instances. What do you do when you're working on one project and want to check out something in a project that you've done previously?
You can pull clips from other projects into your other Session from the browser.
