the bedroom-producer thingie is mentioned in a german interview

http://www.gruenderwettbewerb.de/infose ... r.flv/view

i guess the target audience is the laptop musician. no more, no less. no reason to harp on about the synonym. most of us fall into that category. or does anyone here use a real neve console @ home?

what i´ve read so far is that it´ll be a composing, recording and performing tool. we´ll see what the real difference between their product and live will be ...

i wish them best of luck!

I have spent too long in marketing.
Yep. and if Pro Tools would have been called "Fruity Loops" and FL Studio was called "Pro Audio Workstation" take a wild guess what you'd see in every "professional" studio.
Haha, both good ones.
Quote from Claes on the Vember Audio Website:
"Claes is currently working on a new project, Bitwig, which aims to take the next step in the evolution of the computer music studio."
Slightly different marketing strategy from "targeting the bedroom producer level".
Good luck anyway!

I can't believe this really. IMHO I guess that Bitwig is a teaser of Ableton 9 or a new Product of Ableton and they'll cancel Live. Maybe in two days ... at Namm Show we'll see, what's really up with this spooky Bitwig Ghost. Here are some things speak for it:

• The design is in some Parts nearly the same like Live, why they haven't designed the Realtime Stretch similar to Live? Or the Look of the Notes?
• There are all features included Live Users want to have since a long time.
• I'm not a developer, but is it possible to code such a complex Program in mostly 1,5 years with 8 People, and the Ableton Developers need more than 3 Years (and having nothing at the time) with a lot more Developers and experience?
• The most features Ableton took years of development to bring in their DAW. Like the Effect- & Instrument Racks, Midi, VST & AU support, the internaleffects, Max4Live ....
• An re-design of Live is overdue. The Mac Version isn't Programmed in Cocoa, there are a lot of bugs, its not 64bit and the GUI is the same since 10 years.
• One reason to cancel Live and continue with a new Product could be: There are right conflicts between Cycling74 and Ableton to integrate Max4Live into Ableton. They want to do their own thing and not addicted to a 3rd Party Company. So, why not cancel Live and start with a new Product? Another reason could be compatibility problems to open older Live Projects with all supported features. So if they are at a point to rewrite the whole Program, and they are at this point - maybe it's a logical step to make things different and this supplies compatibility problems, maybe. And the Bugs won't carried from one Version to the next over the years.

So, really people - why the hell & how should a little startup Company with 25.000 Euro(!) be able to code such a bolid of program, that works stable, in 1,5 years?

So, I'm curious what's happening... but anyway I like the design
